I’ve read many times that the socialists in Sacramento, CA have been considering such an exit fee for some time.

Maybe they’ll set up those inspection type stations on all roads leading out of CA and start charging an exit tax regardless if you’re a citizen of CA since you availed or could have availed yourself of CA’s gov’t services.
