My dad bought all the USGS fault maps for SoCal, trying to identify the safest locale for relocating, and decided on......................Oceanside.

Glad my Cards started their road trip in San Diego before this swarm started.Playing the 1st of 3 in SF now. The quakes and aftershocks can just stay to the south.
Hope everything settles down before they go back to the left coast in early August. Two games in Oakland and three in LA.

I always get a little anxious when they play in CA, mostly because of quakes. Which is funny because of the New Madrid fault possibly being over due for more big ones like in 1811-1812.
I just wrote elsewhere that I will not view these quakes as omens, but rather as prophetic foreshadowings of great things to come. A God-instigated tectonic shift of sorts: in our culture and politics. Of course I still pray to be geologically spared regardless...even as I embrace the metaphorical nature of an earthquake.
It wasn’t that long ago that CA recalled Democrat Governor Gray Davis and replaced him Arnold Schwarzenegger, who although disappointing, did identify as a Republican.
Our state may have an awakening and go Red soon! How’s that for earth-shattering?!
Mag about 5 occurred 3 minutes before and a Mag 5 occurred 3 minutes after this 7.1 quake...
