How do you think this factors into the Hayward Fault? Any ramifications?

This isn’t close to the Hayward Fault. South end of Hayward is near San Jose. This quake was over 350 miles from San Jose and on the east side of the Sierra Nevada range.

I don’t think that earthquake science knows of a way to measure the changes in stress on other faults after a quake.

Geologic settings are different. It would be wrong to link Searles valley to the Bay Area. The Hayward seismic stress is building up separately from yesterday”s event.
