When travelers shop at dozens of duty free stores at airports worldwide, they may be paying for more than a bottle of vodka or a box of chocolates.
The Falic family of Florida, owners of the ubiquitous chain of Duty Free Americas shops, funds a generous and sometimes controversial philanthropic empire in Israel that runs through the corridors of power and stretches deep into the occupied West Bank.

I have not shopped at these establishments before but will make a point to do so from now on.
“Shop at the airport Duty Free? You may be supporting Israeli settlements in Palestine”
Like that’s a bad thing.
Question: What is Palestine?
Nothing like drumming up business for the people you hate, eh Skippy?
Obviously someone is trying to destroy the Duty Free franchise. I guess the moral of this story is donate anonymously, if you dont want to be outed for your political beliefs.
I had a couple of hours to blow in Atlanta’s airport a few days ago. I wish I knew this then. Well, at least for future purchases.
I’ll make a point from now on TO SHOP for Christmas presents in those places.
(The nicest clock that I’ve ever owned came from a “duty free shop” in DK.)

Yeah I was never an Israel activist.
I figured they took care of themselves more than enough and could handle themselves more than enough.
But the past few years, though I didn’t think it was possible, the msm and powers that be have gotten even MORE RABID against Israel.
That makes me very mad.
I have NO IDEA what Israel makes, but if it is something I use I will buy at least one thing that is made there.
Stealth anti-semitism, but what do expect out of Santa Cruz?
Me Too!! I am now shopping there EVERY CHANCE I GET!!
At last I hear something that justifies the high prices in airports.
All the more reason.
Now, if I just understood what “duty free” means?
Oh, that's been done.
“Now, if I just understood what duty free means?”
no kidding. the prices in the places always looked so outrageous to me I just figured it was a scam for the unwary ....
Well, I was trying to swear off flying . . . .
But this may be a plus if I have to . . .
It’s a fake country where fake people come from who are fond of airing their fake grievances by being really violent.

“I have not shopped at these establishments before but will make a point to do so from now on. “
Always thought the same, that they were a gimmick. But now we know shopping there will MAKE A STATEMENT against Antisemitism, so count me in too!
Excellent!
Wonderful news!
I sure hope to support those evil Joooos living in their so-called “settlements” (where did the Nazis come up with that word from, ha!)....on their own Promised Land in Israel
indeed, I try to provide them as much support as humanly possible
whoever is writing for the “Santa Cruz Sentinel” needs to be fired for this IslamoNazi propaganda krap, now.
Santa Cruz has a campus of the U of Cal, including Angela Davis on the taxpayer’s payroll, and the town has become a collection channel for many of the farthest leftist kinds you don’t want to hear about.
The newspaper is not your small town press. It is, rather, owned by Digital First Media (San Jose Mercury News...a far far leftist rag, Boston Herald, St. Paul Pioneer Press, Orange County Register which has under this ownership become pretty far left of its former self, etc..) and is controlled by Alden Group Capital, a hedge fund run by Randall D. Smith...a real estate tycoon of sorts and owner of a number of homes in Florida through overseas front companies commonly used to avoid USA taxes we understand)
we usually don’t buy much at airports but will look for any of these shops we can, now....
friends and associates have told us for years that they can have some good buys on some good merchandise
