Wr have some tremendous wines that keep winning blind tests and competitions. For “some” reason, they don’t make wine list despite being 1/4 the price.

That’s a big question, as it depends on what you like.

Baron Edmond de Rothschild (yeah, him) really invested in Carmel, and, in particular, Yatir in the northeastern Negev and Kayoumi in the Upper Galilee.

There’s Rhone varietals and some really interesting “southern” (it’s hot here) wines using 2-3,000 year old species and going back to the truly native Golan and other varietals.

Israel was tolerated by the Greeks and Romans because of spectacular wines, and there is a real come back.

As far as I am concerned, Israel is free to keep the West Bank, Gaza and the Golan Heights forever and do with it what they see fit, including expulsion of the Palestinians.

Previous owners of all three aforementioned territories invaded Israel with the intent of wiping it off the map and expelling or exterminating all Jews. They lost.

Israel allows them and their descendants to remain out of the goodness of their hearts. Until such time, if any, as they make a peace treaty with them as Israel did with the Sinai Peninsula, they have no RIGHT to remain, only a courtesy to remain on good behavior as Israel sees fit to allow.

Nope. It’s wrapped in a bag that says duty free and sealed. You just go thru customs like that. I’ve brought large bags of alcohol thru and never had an issue

Amen.

To the victor go the spoils. And in the case of Israel which has not been the aggressor - think Six Days War and Yom Kipper war - this goes doubly so.

Thank you. You are the first person to explain that to me plainly.

FWIW, I am not a big fan of "to the victor go the spoils" except for those who want to live by the law of the jungle. Then they shouldn't be surprised when the same rules get applied to them.

The main reason I am not a fan of "to the victor go the spoils" is seeing how MacArthur transformed Japan from a world liability to a world asset after World War II with righteous rule and mutual respect.

The Japanese have a long standing tradition of gratitude; the Pallies, not so much. Civilized treatment works well for people who are, at their hearts, civilized.

Your point is valid. I probably should have worded it more like this, if the victim of the aggression is the victor then take the spoils

No harm, no foul. I guess that is what you meant. We conservatives, for the most part, are civilized religious people who don't follow the law of the jungle. The left does while, at the same time, claims that we do.

Question: When is the last time you saw a leftist get assaulted at a political rally, unless it was by another leftist? The cases of Trump supporters getting assaulted by Antifa and other lowlifes were legion, but the left was free to run their rallies with nothing other than a mild polite counter protest.
