These Senate seats are up for election in 2020
Axios ^ | 5/6/19 | Rashaan Ayeh

There are 34 Senate seats up for election in 2020 — including a special election in Arizona — many of which are expected to be brutally competitive as Democrats vie for control of the Senate.

Quick take: The U.S. Senate is currently made up of 53 Republicans, 45 Democrats and 2 independents who caucus with the Democrats. Dems must win 3 or 4 seats to take control of the Senate — 4 to recapture control — or 3, if they also win the vice presidency.

Some of the fiercest races will come from Virginia, North Carolina and New Hampshire, according to a late 2018 analysis from FiveThirtyEight.

Republican senators representing left-leaning states — Susan Collins (R-Maine), Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) and Cory Gardner (R-Colo.) — are considered among the Democrats’ clearest 2020 targets.

As Democrats from Trump-won states — Sen. Gary Peters (D-Mich.) and Sen. Doug Jones (D-Ala.) — are also vulnerable.

Some of the notable seats include Sen. Mitch McConnell's (R-Ky.) and Sen. Lindsey Graham's (R-S.C.).

I posted that because of the article exploring the idea of a separate election for vice president.

Look, you can’t call a man a loser, when enemies within his own ranks submarine him. Our side politically assassinated him.

We never see that from the Democrats. NEVER!

Our team not only attacks our own guy, but when they are successful they call him a loser.

That is so troubling, and it really does show our party up for what it is. It’s an eat your own circular firing squad.

The party is the actually loser here. We were the real loser here. The nation was.

Which is a fair comment.

Look, if Moore loses by 5-10%, sure, blame it on him and call the outcome unfortunate. Make of it what you will.

Moore lost to Jones by 1.5%, or 21,311 votes, with a total vote count of 1319791 between them.

Alabama 100.0% reporting Jones 49.9% Popular Vote 670,551 Moore 48.4% Popular Vote 649,240 Total Write-Ins 1.7% Popular Vote 22,777 2016 presidential win: There there's the write-ins. Look at those write-ins. Those were mostly done at the party's direction. The Republican party told their voters to either not vote for Moore or write in another person.

Congressmen were telling them to do this. Other high level party members were. Then t

So with all the shenanigans, Moore was in a dead heat if Republicans who wrote in someone else, had simply vote for Moore.

Are we saying Jones ran a great campaign? Heck, the guy could have vacationed in Gruam before it tips over and still own.

Both teams were working for him.

Obama Robocalls for him just prior to the election: LINK

Trump at the last minute robo-called for Moore too, but that's a pretty tough time to ally support, the night before the election. He should have been talking him up for weeks prior to the election.

Mark Kelly, Gabrielle Giffords husband , is her likely opponent. Kelly is a gun grabbing arrogant scumbag and definitely needs to be defeated.

He’s a loser from a political standpoint for two major reasons: (1) he was an awful candidate, and (2) he ran a lazy, half-assed campaign.

You don’t give a political misfit like that a second chance. Donald Trump won in 2016 because he ran his campaign as if every day was going to be his last on earth. Could you even imagine that guy taking two days off on the weekend before Election Day to travel 1,000 miles to watch a stupid football game?

If Roy Moore runs in 2020 he’s probably going to get almost no financial support from conservatives and a boatload of it from every leftist special interest group.

He got no funding last time. LOL Where were you?

Read the above post I put up a half an hour or so ago.

It makes it very clear who cost the state the election.

It wasn’t Moore asking Republicans to write in Republican candidates.

Dude, let’s be serious. The guy didn’t lose because of write-in votes. He lost because 600,000 people in Alabama who voted for Donald Trump in 2016 stayed home in 2017. You can post numbers and analyze them all you want, but the simple truth is that Roy Moore was an awful, uninspiring candidate.

You think he could have gotten 22,000 more votes if he had campaigned for two days before the election instead of shuffling off to watch a stupid football game? I do. He was either incompetent, lazy, or both ... AND THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THAT.

What are the sure pick ups, for Rs?

What are the longshot pick ups, for Rs?

Any chance we may lose any seats?

Thanks.

P.S. — When I talk about “funding” I’m referring to individual campaign contributions, not political party funds.

In 2017, Doug Jones raised more money in direct contributions from Alabama voters than Roy Moore did.

Just think about that for a minute and read it again.

McConnell would turn over every other seat to the dems if it guaranteed him keeping his own.

Power!

You have this problem with looking at the facts and coming up with rational conclusions.

Who were those write-ins for? Democrats? LOL

Please open your own eyes and take a look at what happened.

The Republican leadership asked him to stand down.

People from Congress blasted him.

Nobody stood behind him.

Trump held off until a few days before the election to endorse.

Robo calls told Republicans to write in someone else or stay home.

Now you’re telling me that people stayed home. Really?

He lost by 21,000 votes and change and there were over 22,000 write-ins.

Okay, people did as directed, but this is a chalked up by you to Moore being the problem.

Moore was such a bad candidate that he is now responsible for the Republican leadership running robo-calls against him that told voters to stay home or write-in another person.

Yeah, I can produce numbers. They can’t be refuted either.

We know Republicans were told to stay home. We know they were told to write other people in. They did, but oh this had nothing to do with Moore’s loss according to you.

Nonsense. Pure nonsense, and what’s more, you darn well know it.

I don’t have to read it.

With Congressmen and RNC officials in Washington going full anti-Moore, what did you expect to see. By your own account these people followed orders and stayed home.

They wrote in other people.

They didn’t donate.

Of course this is Roy Moore’s fault, and just the fact that Republican leaders encouraged all this, it was still all Moore’s fault.

Donald Trump and Ronald Reagan or the only two candidates I know of in my lifetime who were able to upset the apple cart against the Republican elites.

Now you trash Moore for not being able to. Nonsense...

Anyone who listens to what the leadership of a stupid political party tells them to do is an ‘effing moron.

This website is filled with posters who refuse to donate to the Republican Party for that very reason. BUT EVERY ONE OF THEM WILL GET THEIR ASS OUT AND VOTE FOR CONSERVATIVE CANDIDATES.

Where was Moore the weekend before the Tuesday election?

I think he could have won had he tried harder. Alabama has a lot of small rural
type communities, etc. They will vote for the one who they believe favors their
beliefs. Moore needed to make the effort to get them out. I'm not sure he did.

You just told me people didn’t go out.

Moore is one of the most Conservative people around.

Now you tell me folks will get their ass out to vote for Conservative candidates.

Another nonsensical post still avoiding the obvious.

Hardly anyone can win an election with the other side and their own side against them.

You didn’t know this and still don’t.

Okay, then you don’t believe the robocalls telling Republicans to stay home or write in other people, had any impact on Republican staying home and writing in other people.

You don’t think Congressmen and RNC officials asking Moore to stand down had any impact.

You don’t think Republican talking heads talking about how unfortunate it was for Moore be the candidate had any effect on things.

Tell you what, when election day comes, I’m there, and I’m voting for the best man that has a chance, unless that man is just plain a globalist fool.

Moore was a sound enough candidate, even if he wasn’t stellar.

You eliminate all the other Republican shenanigans, Moore wins by pretty decent margin.

Thanks for the discussion.
