Neither house has the votes to override a veto, but we have another reason to starve the RNC. Party discipline means just that. Unless the establishment wants to be in the same leaky dingy with Pelosi, they need to show leadership. Removal of the weeds makes the garden grow better.

When President Trump first took office, we thought there were three or four traitors among US Senate Republicans. With that ***** Ayotte gone, McCain resting comfortably, and Flake's numbers so bad he couldn't run, I thought it would get the message across.

My current thinking. All but maybe a small handful of Republican US Senators are traitors. They've been fully vetted by the Illuminati before they reach that level.

What will happen is that we will get mad at these worthless gutless GOP Senators and vote them out and the Democrat will replace them. We are likely going to lose the Senate. The left plays the game of politics better than Conservatives.

I don’t think this is about border funding this about taking out the President. And it is by the usual suspects. Either we tell them it’s unexceptional or they will keep at it. Patsy Toomey 202-224-4254 make his people miserable. Turn about is fair play.

Yeah, Trump isn’t impressing me on the lawyers that he’s choosing to advise him on all this. I’m against declaring a national emergency because the budgeting process didn’t go your way. What Pres. Trump should’ve done is declare the border a Drug Corridor and gotten funding that way. Trump needs to get a few lawyers that have a clue how the govt. works, he needs to send his real estate lawyers to greener pastures for awhile. It was obvious from the get-go that this thing was never going to pass, there’s way too many Repubs that vote on the white-guilt side on this kind of stuff. This was all disappointing but predictable.

I have the worst DemonCRAP senators: Patty “Osama Mama” Murray and Maria “Can’t Do Well” Cantwell. If 10,000 border wall supporters surrounded their offices, they would have voted against the resolution. They have been foot soldiers for the Seattle far Left for decades.

He’s done quite well for his globalist uniparty.

This observation is spot on:

They think they are safe from voter wrath.

The big target is Mitch McConnell, who is up for reelection in 2020. He needs to be "Cantored" to effectively send a message to the rest of them.

However, prior to that MUST be a shot across McConnell's bow, which is the upcoming reelection of Matt Bevin in 2019 as governor of Kentucky. We need to make the Bevin reelection such a huge turnout as to be a bellwether for what's ahead for McConnell in 2020.

In fact, a popular turnout for Bevin in 2019 might be a launching pad for a Bevin rematch against McConnell in 2020.

"I think the problem is, what Paul Ryan told President Trump was correct, the Senate would have NEVER given him border wall funding..in Congress, yes it would have passed, but NOT in the Senate..too many of them support open borders, its sad but its just fact"

You think that if the House passed "border wall" legislation that Trump wanted, that the Senate would then block it? Interesting.

At the very least, Ryan should have gotten in done in the House then made the Senator's put their No vote on it, gotten it on record.

NO ONE can predict the future for any President to need such declarations.

Hobbling ANY President from using the tools of their office is more INSANITY.

when trump was elected the next day, he should have asked McConnell and Ryan to move on wall funding. If the funding was not in ace by Jan 21, 2017, he should have declared the emergency then when the republicans controlled the house..

I saw what occurred today as proof enough that it would NOT have passed. I would never have believed it before, but had to see it today with my own eyes

A MANDATORY Ride Along with members of the Border Patrol & Texas Rangers should be performed by every single member of Congress.

They are making such decisions from a very long way away from the Border.

Busy signal on Little Marco’s Orlando office. I won’t try again but may write a scathing letter. (My garage has a bin full of scathing letters from the past)
But Rubio has been a huge disappointment. There are many better Republicans to fill his seat.
I was going to encourage Rubio to move back to Cuba.
Isn’t it strange how those 2016 primary candidates blame President Trump for their losing? In the General Election, Hilliary Clinton blamed Trump and the RUSSIANS for her loss.

Not one of those chicken-shit losers blamed themselves!!!!??

This was all disappointing but predictable.

This wasn't "predictable," this was the called play.

We all knew when Trump signed the spending bill that ended the partial government shutdown, that this was going to be how the endgame played out.

What is "disappointing" in hindsight is that Trump should have not signed the spending bill and kept the government shut down a little bit longer. That would have put the ball back in Congress' court, and the heat would have been on Pelosi and McConnell once again.

That's why McConnell begged Trump to sign the bill, and that's why McConnell promised Trump that Senate support for his emergency order would be there if he signed the bill. That's why this is a betrayal of McConnell by his own caucus and not a betrayal of Trump, because it was always known that this was the eventual end.

McConnell's caucus didn't have to let it get this far, but they did. And it's McConnell who has lost all credibility, not Trump.

Make no mistake, Schumer is going to pwn McConnell now because of this.

“Trump trusted Ryan and McConnell.”

I doubt it. Trump is not that stupid. Presidents don’t just pontificate and assume everyone follows them. They must bend arms and persuade people to support their agenda. Trump got a lot of people onboard but not enough. Thus his signature issue is defeated by his own party. Not a good day.
