Research commissioned by The Atlantic Magazine shows that older white liberals may just be the most politically intolerant group in the country.
The article by Amanda Ripley, Rekha Tenjarla and Angela Y. He, published Monday and titled “The Geography of Partisan Prejudice,” utilized polling and analytics firm PredictWise to “create a ranking of counties in the U.S. based on partisan prejudice.”
While its findings showed “significant variations in Americans’ political ill will from place to place, regardless of party,” it also found that groups the authors expected to display partisan animosity, such as immigrants, paled in comparison to “the most politically intolerant Americans,” who “tend to be whiter, more highly educated, older, more urban, and more partisan themselves.”
While the piece did not explicitly label this group as “liberal,” several indications bear this out, such as the “highly educated” description (54 percent of college graduates at least lean Democratic), the fact that the vast majority of “urban” voters tend to be Democrats, and the known political leanings of the areas the research itself draws from, such as Massachusetts. We see this dynamic in the heat map. In some parts of the country, including swaths of North Carolina and upstate New York, people still seem to give their fellow Americans the benefit of the doubt, even when they disagree. In other places, including much of Massachusetts and Florida, people appear to have far less tolerance for political difference. They may be quicker to assume the worst about their political counterparts, on average.

These are the ones most closely indoctrinated with “They are going to steal your Social Security”, “They hate you” (”See! You hate them, don’t you!” The most likely to NOT be independently employed (if employed at all at a non-government job), the ones most isolated by their culture and the neighborhood moving away/dying). The ones most worried about “free health care” - and so the ones most demanding it from others.
That geographic area is the least likely to go to church, the most “closed inside” their former ethnic neighborhood (now likely destroyed/burned out); and if Jewish, the most likely to have been brought up socialist/non-religious. Reactionary.

I am aware of some of them. They are the worst and should know better by their age. Haven’t learned a thing in life.
In my neighborhood, these insufferable people put signs on their lawns to signal their awesome virtue.
“Hate has no home here”
“We welcome all our neighbors, no matter where they’re from” (In English, Spanish and Arabic)
“In this home we believe...”(followed by 6 or 7 left-wing platitudes)
When you even gently confront them at a public or civic event, however, then the mask drops and out comes the burning hatred that drives these folks.
My neighborhood has those same signs.

Some flower children did make it past the 60’s however brain didn’t evolve still stoned.
Older whites are generally more politically savvy. They are also quite often, better read, more intelligent and have a firm grasp of the U.S. Constitution!
Otherwise...the same people who went nuts about Reagan.
