Ardently anti-Trump View co-host Joy Behar rushed to socialism’s aid during the panel’s discussion about Tuesday night’s State of the Union address, claiming that the right had "distorted" its true meaning. Behar also boasted that Democrats actually do want President Trump to fail as payback for ruining the country.
Co-host Abby Huntsman cited the positive reaction to Trump’s address and argued that Democrats should abandon socialism because it wasn’t a winning strategy to win over independents. That struck a nerve with Joy Behar, who proceeded to “correct” her:
“I have to say the word Socialist is becoming a buzzword like liberal and feminist where the right wing is now taking that word and distorting it. So every time you use it I'm going to interrupt you,” she lectured, as the audience clapped in approval.
“How is what Ocasio-Cortez is saying --” Huntsman started to retort but was drowned out by the other co-hosts.
“Yeah, it is being used, its being weaponized,” Sunny Hostin agreed with Behar, who added, “It's being bastardized, that word. Nobody really understands it!”

Well, Joy, well over 100 million people who died in the 20th century as a result of socialist/ communist regimes understood it very well. I don’t think we should offer opportunity for that to be repeated.

What is socialism to me? A barbed wire fence,a mine, or a camp that I see. With certain words, like Kolyma, Katyn, Treblinka and Chenmlo, with no Freedom or Democracy, that is what Socialism means to me. (A little thanks to Frank Sinatra for the inspiration) Its OK if it didn’t work out, people didn’t understand Stalin or Hitler’s Socialism, you have to do it right the next time, things improve over time. Next time it will work, you have to elect the right people to make it work, choose Democrat! Or you can choose playing Russian roulette with a machine gun. The results will be the same.

Oh, I think she knows exactly what it means. Like all totalitarian control freaks she suffers under the delusion that it just hasn't been done right yet. If only her and her social justice warrior fellow travelers were in charge things would be just swell. Hell, unicorns would be pissing rivers of milk and honey if only they had total control. She just has to get a few wrong thinking people out of the way first. "You know, you have to break a few eggs (crack a few heads) to make an omelet..."
