Hagfish Haunts Darwin
A zombie hagfish rises from the dead, and scares Darwin from two directions.
January 24, 2019 | David F. Coppedge
Hagfish are eel-like fish that look like creatures from a horror movie. Their tapir-like snouts are scary enough, but when threatened, they have a unique weapon: slime! They can spread a net of sticky slime around them that can clog the gills of an attacker. And they have been doing this for at least 100 million Darwin Years, perhaps 300 million.

Evolutionary perfection with no genetic mutation that improved on the original
From article: "An expert blames the lack of fossil evidence on the fact that these slippery sausage-like fish dont have hard parts, like bones and hard teeth. He says, its really difficult for them to get preserved into the fossil record."
The hagfish poses very little challenge to Darwin/Evolution compared to the gaps in the fossil records for many creatures that could/should have left transitional fossil records.
The same could apply to Christianity, Creationism and the like.
Because one cannot explain certain facets, or allows those things to confuse him, does not make them untrue or not understandable.
And Christianity and Creationism explain a lot.
A theory has to be proven. A theory can be something interesting; however, it is not necessarily true by its very nature.
Yes, Correct.
I do not see Darwinism and Christianity in conflict.
If looking like hillary and spitting slime works, then who needs evolution?
Yes, true.
A theory is as valuable in accordance with how much it explains.
I do not count miraculous explanations as a theory. Saying "and then a miracle happened" is not a theory. It is an article of faith.
Articles of faith have a different sort of validity, but are not science.
Some things just evolve to a point where they no longer need to evolve anymore to fit their needs. A non-living example of this theory would be the modern revolver pistol. While the size, color and shape may change now and then, the basic most productive and functional form has now been reached and will not need to evolve anymore from this point on. I think it is the same with everything, if there are no challenges and no need to adapt any further the adaptation stops.
I am a modern day Darwin acolyte and am strangely unscared.
Good.
I wasn’t trying to start anything.
I’m just trying to make the point that “science” (and many scientists) want to be given the benefit of the doubt about “gaps”, but are often condescending and unforgiving about the faith called for re other views.
Thanks for the response.
Actually, pretty much all vertebrates can make “slime”. This animal just happens to have a specialized slime with these properties.
It is a vertebrate, by DNA/mRNA testing, related most closely with lampreys. It retains many primitive features, but has a notochord, the hallmark of vertebrates.
Somehow, they seem to believe that every time the theory of evolution is challenged to account for something that it bolsters the arguement for Creation.
Wow. That’s amazing. You are saying a revolver evolved over time due to mutations brought on by environmental stressors over time??
And all the while I thought it developed over time by the successive creativity of intelligent beings.
Analogy:
Analogy is a cognitive process of transferring information or meaning from a particular subject to another, or a linguistic expression corresponding to such a process.

lol... But I get the sarcasm.
Hi. Good question. Most creationist research has to be funded by individual donations.
This isn’t at CEH, but from ICR.
Radioisotopes and the Age of the Earth (RATE)
Introduction
Scientists associated with the Institute for Creation Research have finished a five-year research project known as RATE, or Radioisotopes and the Age of the Earth.
For over a hundred years, evolutionists have insisted that the earth is billions of years old, and have arrogantly dismissed any views contrary to this belief. However, the team of seven creation scientists have discovered incredible physical evidence that supports what the Bible says about the young age of the earth.
Learn about their discoveries and explore the scientific evidence that supports biblical truth here!

Five and one half gallons of slime. Should be the mascot for the Democrat party.
I tend toagree with that. I would like a more coherent theory explaining the Cambrian explosion for example.
Behavirial evolution makes more sense that the straight darwinian variety...I think.
Here is the link to an explanation of what “Spotted Dick” really is; a sweet treat made from suet and fruits. It sounds delicious. I want some!
