A theory has to be proven. A theory can be something interesting; however, it is not necessarily true by its very nature.

Yes, true.

A theory is as valuable in accordance with how much it explains.

I do not count miraculous explanations as a theory. Saying "and then a miracle happened" is not a theory. It is an article of faith.

Articles of faith have a different sort of validity, but are not science.

I tend toagree with that. I would like a more coherent theory explaining the Cambrian explosion for example.

Behavirial evolution makes more sense that the straight darwinian variety...I think.
