A recently released report on the H-1B program (for skilled nonimmigrant workers) indicates that in at least 40 percent of the jobs the employer gets a full-time (alien) worker for a $40,000 a year discount from actual prevailing wages.

Not a surprise to me, on my previous job I was replaced by THREE H-1Bs.
Eliminate the entire program. What do we end up with?
It is because of the fundamental law of economics,....supply & demand.
Computer programmers are in abundant supply worldwide.
There are a lot of companies in Silicon Valley that are categorized as “H-1B dependent.” That translates to they can’t exist without the H-1B program.
“Eliminate the entire program. What do we end up with?”
We end up with lower unemployment, lower crime rates, lower welfare rates, lower inflation, and greater prosperity for Americans.
Oh God it would be great. If only...
There should be at least a $100,000 minimum wage for H-1B visa recipients.
My Corp is in a big cost cutting mode nowadays.
I’m surprised that the magic H1B solution hasn’t been mentioned.
Here we go with the famous Free Republic static economic analysis. Because something is like it is now that will never, can never change. For instance high end IT labor. The supply is fixed and never going to grow if we end H-1B. Increasing wages and prospects won't entice more to go into the IT field. Wrong, It will.
H-1B Visa violates the 13th & 14th Amendments.
The 14th gave Citizenship to laborers. It banned the service visa.
Conservative Judges, where are you?
. . . and I’ll bet your crooked ex-employer continued to charge clients the same hourly rate.
Good ones aren’t... and good ones who speak English and can interact professionally in the US business environment are even rarer.
What these idiots don’t realize is that they only appear to be getting H1Bs cheap - but those H1Bs are selling their corporate data and back end access on the black market. When that one H1-B worker almost successfully nuked Fannie Mae that should have been the signal to US businesses to ditch these guys.
That's the whole point of the program.
Where are all the ‘equal pay for equal work’ females? Now THIS is something you cn sink your teeth into.
I’m pretty sure I saw Ivanka Trump standing next to her father after he won and raised her arm saying she’ll be right beside him to fight for equal pay for equal work, child care credit, etc.
Well ladies, this is where the rubber meets the road. You can do something about this, do something good for the American worker, and attain your coveted equal pay mission.
I defy anyone to tell me why these ‘equal pay’ soldiers should not be all over this like white on rice.
Whadda ya say, Ivanka? You said you were going to fight for it. You have the President’s ear. It will contribute to MAGA.
Ah, thanks for the article and source!
The notion that H1Bs receive the same salary is often brought up.
So now this information about “wage scales” explains it all.
“There should be at least a $100,000 minimum wage for H-1B visa recipients.”
That is a great idea. It will get the job done no problem.
Businesses pay low wages and the taxpayers make up the cost of living in a first world economy through a myriad of 'assistance' programs.
