That's how the Democrats play. That's basically what Tip O 'Neil did to Reagan on immigration.
It would be a terrible idea for one big reason: It gets Congress off the hook for doing their damn job.
I don’t know that it would be such a bad deal. There’s no way the illegals that are here are going to be deported. The status quo is that they are pouring in and aren’t gonna leave. Under Lindsey Grahamnesty’s alleged proposal, we could at least stem the flow.

Amnesty is not an answer
I’ve never had a problem with legalizing Dreamers. It’s the Democrats who most don’t want that as they are the literally poster children for the rest.
Just say NO to any amnesty bill. We are trying to stop the flow of illegals; not give them a reason to do it.
No DACA amnesty without ending visa lottery and chain migration.
Whatever happens, deal, compromise, National Emergency needs to be NOW!
If the ‘rats get a chance, and they might after 2020, they will defund the wall.
If the Pres. declares a National Emergency the ‘rats will judge shop and get an injunction the Pres should ignore any court order.

I agree. The DREAMERS are here to stay. All that’s been done over the years is chip away at the 2 million. Rounding up 2,000,000 people would REALLY look like Stalin and Hitler.

I agree with your statement, but it is a national emergency crisis, and we have a do nothing gridlock congress. I am concerned about the 'letting them off the hook' aspect, but more concerned about the continued influx of third world dregs.
It’s all beltway theater. Nothing will happen. Dems are dug in, have an energized base and have top cover from the media. GOP don’t want a wall either. I expect McConnell has a stinking pile of garbage end the shutdown bill all ready to vote on.
Trump has actually already offered this to the Dems, and it’s on record...so Graham is just trying to get this through for him.
My guess is that while Trump can do the wall through the national emergency route, he’d ratther not. So he’s giving the Dems one last chance.
They won’t take it, of course, but then he can say he tried.
