Well, the contest is over, folks. The New York Times has made its selection for president for 2020, and all those Democrats out there can pack it up. Sorry, Beto. Too bad, Joe. Bye-bye, Bernie.
The winner is...Kamala Harris!
That's how goofy things have become, what with the paper of record tipping its choice even before any of the debates is out or any of the Democratic candidates (you know it's going to be a Democrat they endorse) has made his case to voters. The buildup is on.
Blogger Ann Althouse (hat tip: Instapundit) has gotten a load of the Times' latest Kamala-love headline (which I noticed, too, so I bet it's plenty of people who've noticed), showing Harris as the first person in the Times' lineup of names of Democrats running for president, in some fluff piece on how, well, they're running. Althouse spotted another detail: that they placed Harris's op-ed calling for free health care right there in the top-right corner, which is prime real estate for a newspaper, as it is likely to be seen by readers, and something they rarely do for an op-ed.
There plenty of evidence that's whom they are gunning for. Harris has been engulfed in scandals, from misappropriation of LAPD guards to a defense of false prosecutorial testimony to sex harassment from her aides that she claims to know nothing about to deceptive videos. I went to check on whether the Times gave any coverage to her last scrap with unethical behavior: her claim that she knew nothing about her top aide's involvement with sex harassment, which led to a $400,000 payout to a persecuted junior aide. Guess what: the Times wrote nothing. Do a search of "Larry Wallace" and "Kamala Harris," and nothing comes up. Do that same search on Google, and there's an explosion of stories, all derived from the Sacramento Bee's scoop. Funny how that happens.

These are VP material ...Clinton vs Obama will be the real battle for nomination. Beta and Harris will be the two VP candidates.
I’m putting this on the good side. The fake Mexican is too much like obamy in that he can win votes while doing nothing.
Kamala is angry, scowling, uninspiring "Hillary with a tan" with plenty of her own skeletons. She'll energize the same "Anybody but Hillary" voters who helped Trump win. Democrats would be foolish to rally behind her.
Beto would be the sensible choice --or just write off 2020 until AOC is old enough to run in 2024.
They shirked their responsibility when Obama ran refusing IIRC 6 ,cases. Need to push the issue with this court and make them at least rule.
“Remember the Von Erichs?”
Yep.
And then you have Rick Flair breaking his back in a plane crash.
Or Randy Savage having a heart attack on the Courtney Campbell causeway...with Miss Elizabeth as passenger.
May he RIP.

Because they ducked the issue in 2008, if they are forced they will decide that anyone born an American citizen is eligible just to cover for themselves and everyone else in the District of Corruption.
Then let’s get it over with.
Surely one of her competitors will play the Natural Born Citizen card.
I can see that. Booker is just a colored guy, Beta is white...but the national abuse this poor Native American took at the hands of Trump....her victim status is the highest we’ve ever seen! The Presidency is the absolute least she deserves.
“Miss Occasional Kotex”
Ha Ha!
I think I’m the first one to use Occasional Cortex, but Kotex has a ring to it too.
Black, female and leftist - how can you argue With qualifications like that!
Two words for 2020. Blow out.
Time to start archiving everything you can about this woman before she goes BO on us and the scrubbers get going.

I am gratified that you found my reply useful. We all need to demand that this issue be adjudicated by a competent authority, or globalism will sure reign, not just as an influence, but as an integral component of the office of POTUS.
Ivanka Trump, a former Czechoslovakian national was lawfully resident in the US when Don Jr. was born. Czech citizenship law follows the principle of jus sanguinis, used to determine eligibility for citizenship, as is typical in Europe. Any person born to a Czech citizen is a Czech citizen at birth. Whether the person is born in the Czech Republic or elsewhere is irrelevant. What natural born citizen is born with multiple citizenships? It does not matter that Don Jr. does not and did not want it. Czech citizenship law is just as valid as our own. Our laws are the same as theirs in that regard.
Again, Don Jr. is a citizen, no doubt. He is NOT an Article II, section 1, clause 5 natural born citizen eligible for the POTUS.
(All trees are plants. Not all plants are trees)
I recall a story of a shot down Tuskegee Fighter pilot (I think it was from Lt. Col. Alexander Jeffersons account Red Tail Captured, Red Tail Free, but I am not sure) who was interrogated by a German Oberleutnant speaking perfectly accented US English in the Stalag where he was being held.
The airman asked the German officer why he spoke such good English. He explained that he had been brought to the US by his parents when he was 10 years old. He was interned as an enemy alien by the 3rd Reich while visiting Germany by Adolph Hitlers Declaration of war on the US on Dec 11 1941.
After a brief internment, He said that he had been drafted into the German Army under the German citizenship laws at the time as a VOLKSDEUTSCHE citizen. He fought on the Eastern Front, was wounded and transferred to the Western Front and fought against the Allies in Italy, including US troops. Wounded again, he was sent to the Stalag as an interrogater.
After the war, a charge of treason was considered against him. But the charges were dropped when it was determined that the Germans did have the right to conscript him as a natural born German citizen, under THEIR laws, and that he was a lawful enemy combatant.
Yes, circumstances can certainly dictate when you are subject to a foreign power.
Accordingly, the framers wanted to minimize (not guarantee) the likelihood of undue foreign influence upon the office of POTUS, particularly from a father owing an allegiance to a foreign sovereignty.

None of the Democrats will, that would be the same as admitting Obama was ineligible.
