Best speech I have ever heard on the floor of Congress or in committee (House or Senate).
A couple more rounds of golf with Trump & you just might see Graham out there building the wall himself.
He was outstanding today, that I can tell you.
Don’t hold your breath...
This is why we aren’t suppose to judge others. We don’t know their heart. Only God does.
I was surprised and thrilled by Lindseys scathing words to the despicable Rats.
Now that Juan MCCain is dead it appears that Lindsey is thinking clearly again.
Lindsey Graham was amazing...
Yes indeed! Bravo Senator Graham!
Plus I just caught this highlight on Tucker’s show: A direct quote from Kavanaugh
There is a bright line between drinking beer, which I gladly do and which I fully embrace... Judge Kavanaugh 9-27-18
That seals the deal for me. Confirm this good man!
Senator Graham grew a VERY LARGE PAIR!
TAXMAN BRAVO ZULU! SENATOR!
Ugh, doesn't Axe know batters don't warm up in the bullpen?
I am amazed with Graham.
Ha, ha. True. Relief pitchers warm up there, and they go to the mound in a logical order: the best one first, the next best one next,...
And the future survival of our U.S.A. is even much more important than that. Our nation must not be put at future risk of civil war or collapse for the sake of political correctness or affirmative action. We should know that, especially after what we saw the past few days.
His speech impressed the heck outta me.
BRAVO!
Let us hope and pray that Mr. Graham now also turns his rekindled passion for what is right to ENFORCING OUR BORDERS!
Amen to that!
But for today -- I echo the sentiments above. FINALLY one of those Republican Senators stood up and shouted what most of the American people have been shouting at their TVs for weeks now. And he pointed fingers at the democRATs, and more fingers at Jeff Flake. Thank you, Senator Graham!
I doubt it. I don't think Graham's position on amnesty has changed, so its pretty unlikely he'd do right thing on that issue in the future.
The thing is, there are plenty of times where Graham was wrong in the past and he deserved legitimate criticism for screwing over conservatives. That didn't mean he was ALWAYS wrong or that he was the "worst RINO in the Senate" or "to the left of his Democrat opponent" or "Hillary Clinton's butt boy" no matter how loudly some on this forum screamed otherwise.
You had plenty on FR who would mindlessly bash Graham NO MATTER WHAT he did. One of the most ridiculous examples was when Graham bashed Ron Paul's looney anti-Israel policies and responded back "the Republican Party is the Party of Ronald Reagan, its not the party of Ron Paul", and numerous FReepers were siding with the screwy Paulbot crowd and posting pics of Reagan with Paul as if they shared the same ideology. In reality, Graham was 100% right and if their hero Jim DeMint said the SAME THING, they would have applauded wildly. But somehow it was "bad" and proof of his RINOism when Graham said it.
Trying to make Graham out to be the left of Olympia Snowe when he was staunch pro-life, pro-gun, etc., was just sheer insanity. Yes, he sucked on amnesty and several other issues, but many GOP Senators are way to his left. I don't see Lisa Murkowksi out there going to bat for Kavanaugh.
Most telling, I saw numerous comments on FR back in 2014 that openly expressed hope that Graham would lose to his RAT opponent Brad Hutto in 2014. Imagine where we'd be now if the "Linda Grahamnesty MUST GO" crowd got their way and Brad Hutto was sitting on that committee. Shamefully, not one FReeper who expressed that argument and hoped Graham would lose to a RAT in 2014 has admitted they were wrong in hindsight.
RE Graham:
I’ll tell you this much, he impressed the Hell out of me today. I’ve busted on him plenty out here, but he stood up and stood tall today, and I already sent his office an email saying so.
I think he realized today that those... people... on the other side of the aisle are NOT his “friends”.
BTTT
I stood up and cheered!
WOW!! From Lindsey. He is a lot better without McCain by his side.
Whoa! Beware the fury of a patient man!
LOL
