Exclusive: Ancient Mass Child Sacrifice May Be World's Largest
National Geographic ^ | 4/26/18 | Kristin Romey

Evidence for the largest single incident of mass child sacrifice in the Americas— and likely in world history—has been discovered on Peru's northern coast, archaeologists tell National Geographic.

More than 140 children and 200 young llamas appear to have been ritually sacrificed in an event that took place some 550 years ago on a wind-swept bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, in the shadow of what was then the sprawling capital of the Chimú Empire.

Scientific investigations by the international, interdisciplinary team, led by Gabriel Prieto of the Universidad Nacional de Trujillo and John Verano of Tulane University, are ongoing. The work is supported by grants from the National Geographic Society.

While incidents of human sacrifice among the Aztec, Maya, and Inca have been recorded in colonial-era Spanish chronicles and documented in modern scientific excavations, the discovery of a large-scale child sacrifice event in the little-known pre-Columbian Chimú civilization is unprecedented in the Americas—if not in the entire world.

The veneer of civilization is a very thin one. It ain’t hard to scratch through in some places.

#3. Maybe they had their own Planned Parenthood back them, known as the “PPPS” (Peruvian Planned Parenthood Society).

Their chant would have been “Children, What are they good for? Sacrifices!” (if it seems familiar, I intended for it to be.

I always thought that children were supposed to be loved and protected. That’s the difference between civilized man and the barbarians, even today.

I would say that Thereisenstadt, Auschwitz, the Khmer Rouge “Killing Fields”, the sand dunes of Hue, So. Vietnam, Rwanda, and the ISIS slaughter pits were larger child sacrifice sites, and these were in our life-times.

Evil exists, which is why America fights against it except for some liberals who want to either excuse it or ignore it.

Yes. Jewish kings sacrificed their children; the evil rulers. They were still considered to be Jewish.

It was the reason for the Babylonian captivity.

Actually, reading the full article it said “around 1450” I saw nothing about 1468. I was recently browsing in Sigurdson’s Encyclopedia of Volcanoes and saw a reference to Kuwae volcano which expelled 6 times the volume of ash that Pinatubo did in 1991. The first link below is a detailed research paper seeking to identify what volcano in the mid 1400s had caused world wide famine and disaster. I suspect the date given for the dead children is a few years early and this was a huge sacrifice because the harvests and seafoods had been severely
affected by the volcano which is in the Vanuatu area (Southern Hemisphere). First there might have been a big tsunami, then a couple of years of crop failures, significant changes in the fishing patterns, and then after several years of this a desperate plea to the gods through the sacrifice of children who may have been starving anyway. Any analysis of the nutritional status of the bodies???

“Evidence for the largest single incident of mass child sacrifice in the Americas— and likely in world history”

140 kids?

Planned Parenthood kills more than 20 times that number in the United States every day alone.

Nat’l Geoglobalist is lying. Again.

PeTa probably kills more dogs every day than 200.

https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/killing-animals-petas-open-secret_us_59e78243e4b0e60c4aa36711

“In 2014, PETA killed 2,324 of the 2,626 animals it acquired, including Maya. It had a 1% adoption rate. In 2015, it killed another 1,494. Last year, 1,442 were put to death. The majority of the remainder were taken to local pounds where they were killed”

No, it wasn’t just Carthage - we have instances of child sacrifices amongst the ancient Greeks, among the pre-Republican Romans and among most peoples around the world. But Carthage took it to a higher level among the Old World while the Aztecs were the highest level we’ve seen until the recent pro-choice movement

Well, we need to separate out the "discovery" of the Americas from the Christianization of the Americas. yes, the latter is dependent on the former, but it is still distinct.

The discovery of the Americas was a tragedy for the native cultures in the sense that 90% died due to diseases and their "civlizations" and cultures were utterly changed.

For the people that survived, it was a better life. They got better lives and lower chances of death

As to the Christianization -- this was a large reason for the improvement of people's lives. Christianity is a positive religion - treat people nice as they are your brothers. Even a dispassionate athiest would see that

Abraham certainly exhibited intent to commit child sacrifice.

What is this mass murder of the innocents but another in a long line of bitterly resentful, envious ‘Cain’ projecting his guilt onto his brother ‘Abel’ and then crucifying and sacrificing Abel on the altar of Cain’s own vices. Jesus Christ was born into this world to sacrifice Himself for the sins of all people. But God-is-dead Marxists, Socialists, Progressives, Leftists, and other like-minded Cains have rejected Christ’s work on the Cross and turned back to the old way of sacrificing the innocent, which during the 20th century amounted to the slaughter of over 120,000,000 men, women, and children and here in America, to over 60,000,000 unborn and just born.

How evil is Satan? Probably as infinitely evil as infinitely good God is.

No. Satan is not equivalent to God. Satan is only a created being. A powerful one, but a created being nonetheless. Nothing infinite about him, including his lifespan (he had a beginning, God didn’t).
___________________________________________________

And all evil is a perversion in some way of the good. Evil is dependent upon good. Good does not need evil.
Satan is not God’s equal, not even close.

The Spanish Conquistadors arrival was essentially the same as the allied armies arriving in nazi death camps.

Good observation!

That reminds me: I must rewatch "Apocalypto"
