No I’m one of those people who take scripture at its word. Both Jeremiah and Ezekiel condemn Israel for child sacrifice and note it is one the sins for which God is visiting his wrath in the form of the Babylonians. This condemnation extends to “The children of Israel....their kings, their officials, their priests and the prophets, the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Judah.” (Jer 32.30-35) Sounds pretty all-encompassing. This is exactly what God said he would do (in Deuteronomy) if they did engage in child sacrifice. It’s all right there in the Tanakh.
The Ild Testament is the story of overcoming the baby murderers.
The same dynamic is the story of mankind and is happening to this day.

There was the story of Avraham and Yitzhak going through all the motions of sacrifice, and then stopping at the last second when an angel sent by G-d called it off. But Yitzhak, the sages of the Talmud tell us, calculating from the death of Sarah at age 127, was 37 years old at the time. She died when she was informed of the true nature of that “father-n-son hunting trip”.

With all due respect, I think you missed the whole point I was making. I never hinted anything about him being equivalent to God in terms or immortality, or divinity, etc. My point was he’s evil. Maybe as bad as God is good. But I agree with you on what you said. Thanks.

You think we care about kids in the US? If we did, why would the entire public school apparatus encourage them to enter a lifetime of debt in exchange for a college education of dubious value, and almost assured political re-education.
That’s the thing about the US: here we actually buy the things that enslave us, we volunteer to buy them. That’s why I bristle at any description of the enemy that includes the word ‘stupid’.
