They’re young, they’re educated and they’re losing money in record numbers to scam artists.
Young surfers have become the targets of a new generation of scammers.
The Better Business Bureau says millennials now report more money lost to scams than the elderly.
“Sometimes when you’re expecting something you just open it without realizing,” says San Jose State student, Vanessa Nunez, who is part of the group of people most likely to lose money in a scam.
According to cybersecurity expert, Ahmed Banafa, young people or as they’re often called, “digital natives,” are more susceptible to scams because of the amount of time spent online – both scammers and users.
For the younger generation, sharing information is a part of life, making them more trusting of who they interact with online.
“Their private information, like their bank, credit cards, background, that is the problem,” said Banafa.
Be wary of those who reach out to you online.
Expert’s advice users to avoid adding contacts on social media unless you know and trust them and don’t send anything personal via public Wi-Fi.

If a millennial got mugged, zhe would say that zhe deserved it because of zher white privilege (must not assume pronouns). Millenials are so brainwashed to the point of being incapable of learning. With a few exceptions, it’s a generation of vegetables.

I know we had “generations” in between (the whole concept is silly anyway), but millenilturds were raised on entitlement, and educational and social media sewage. Aging boomer here. I’m relatively well off in retirement only because I became hardened against scammers decades ago & indifferent to `charitable’ appeals outside my own church. If something appeared too good to be true, I assumed that it was and kept my distance.
For this I was called “bitter”, “cynical”, “lacking in empathy”, “uncaring”, yadda yadda yadda.
Can’t even go through grocery checkout without getting hit up for a donation to “the children’s fund” or whatever. I reply “I give through my church” & even that gets the Look.
Old people are vulnerable to Nigerian phone scams? Not this geezer.

My youngest sister got in on that scam right at the beginning. Her excellent timing has allowed her to fleece the taxpayers and businesses pretty effectively.
..... Americans have been sending our children to Indoctrination Facilities and Centers for decades disguised as Schools, Universities and Colleges ..... Now entire generations have been dumbed down and indoctrinated to the degree that this nation has reached it’s desired population level of Vapid Useful Idiots .... We may have well reached a final tipping point that will be hard to recover from.
