They’re young, they’re educated and they’re losing money in record numbers to scam artists.
Young surfers have become the targets of a new generation of scammers.
The Better Business Bureau says millennials now report more money lost to scams than the elderly.
“Sometimes when you’re expecting something you just open it without realizing,” says San Jose State student, Vanessa Nunez, who is part of the group of people most likely to lose money in a scam.
According to cybersecurity expert, Ahmed Banafa, young people or as they’re often called, “digital natives,” are more susceptible to scams because of the amount of time spent online – both scammers and users.
For the younger generation, sharing information is a part of life, making them more trusting of who they interact with online.
“Their private information, like their bank, credit cards, background, that is the problem,” said Banafa.
Be wary of those who reach out to you online.
Expert’s advice users to avoid adding contacts on social media unless you know and trust them and don’t send anything personal via public Wi-Fi.

That’s because millennials are spending all their time in their parents basement cruising the internet between voting for Bernie Sanders and shipping off their parents money to internet Nigerian princes to prepay the taxes on the Nigerian lottery they have been advised they won.

This could be related to why so many of them are enamored with socialism. With each passing generation of useful idiots, communism/marxism/ socialism needs to be repackaged and marketed as someting new and REVOLUTIONARY. Just like those sleazy late night infomercials and “free lunch” seminars pushing the same old get-rich-quick scams as new ways to attain instant wealth and lifetime income streams. Like buying real estate with no $$$ down. Making a kiling in stocks regardless of market conditions. Investing thousands in the latest snake oil while building a downline or some other unworkable MLM/pyramid racket. They’ll tell the naive little darlings this wonderful utopia failed in the past because it was implemented wrong by the wrong people but THEY have a proven system that works. (those 4 deadly words) IT’S TIME IT’S DIFFERENT. And like the hippies and yippies before them, for all their pseudo intellectualism, too many millenials fall for this crap like so many brainwashed puppies. No wonder they’re susceptible to what’s really the same old scams that are adapted to the internet and social media.
