Only difference is that McCarthy was based upon reality. His only real problem was being overly zealous. So really the only commonality I see is the overly zealous part with regards to similarities to McCarthy.

For the same reason I would pick on her for any egregious error. Because when people make their argument from pathos rather then logos I can not trust them. Their foundation is flawed and will crumble at the slightest shift.

And the mislabeling of McCarthy was a communist tactic to begin that “legal” (Justice) switch from good to evil.....to make the patriot into evil, so you would shut up all the future patriots and label them with an emotionally charged word of “McCarthyism” which destroyed anyone who got pinned with that label (how all the Marxists’ enemies were easily destroyed).
It worked spectacularly and destroyed the McCarthy family and their name (common Marxist technique): Repetition of the Lie over and over and in all the textbooks and it becomes the TRUTH. The Marxists took over textbooks and curricula and publishing agencies, all major newspapers and magazines which were all CIA controlled, like Walter Duranty, NY Times. The pro-Stalin Pulitzer winner Duranty for journalism where he made all lies believable and truth for the Americans to digest so they had no ability to know anything of importance. All distraction as Marxists were busy with the total takeover of our institutions.
This “being afraid to call a spade a spade” started on steroids with McCarthy after he was demonized and destroyed by the MSM. All of it planned, all of it controlled, which went like clockwork. Americans swallowed it hook, line and sinker, so the infiltration into all the institutions could occur which took over the media, our courts, Hollywood, skools, universities, science research, corporations, etc.
Political Correctness is Marxism, a self-censorship, a fear of being called names or being unpopular or rejected-—and now we are FIRED or SUED for “thinking” differently because of PC for so many years.
That way of not thinking—massive state and self censorship and flipping of good and evil (all unconstitutional)— is embedded into our Marxist edukational system of mass indoctrination into dependency and slavery now. We are willing slaves of the State system when we hand our children over to the state to be forced into their artificial group-think tanks which will indoctrinate them into slavery for life.

I’m reading “The Candy Bombers: the Untold Story of the Berlin Airlift and America’s Finest Hour” right now. The immediate aftermath of WW II in Europe and the capture and enslavement of Eastern Europe by the Soviets is an amazing story. I did not realize how we had drawn our forces in Europe to essentially zero in a couple years while the Soviets had over four million soldiers in Eastern Europe. The book argues we were very close to nuclear war less than three years after VE Day.

Strassel is not "on our side", and your insisting on historically accurate definitions in the language you use simply prevents you from understanding she is calling Democrats liars in her use of a corrupted (by Democrats) language.
Strassel still has the right to say what she did.
You still have the right to ignore her.
You still have the right to not trust or believe her.
And the rest of us can take comfort in the fact that the Rats are losing credibility.
