A Rhodesian friend asked me years ago if I knew what they used to light their homes with before they used candels...
He said “ Light bulbs”.
“We are only targeting criminals around him who are committing crimes that are causing social and economic suffering in the country in order to bring them to justice.”
And then they go on to reassure everybody else. BUT - then it makes me wonder who are the criminals? I could see the Liberals in the U.S. coming up with something like this.
But of course most of us on FR would be considered criminals for saying bad things about Hillary and Obama, etc.
I’m guessing that the Zimbabwe Defence Forces has a similar view of what constitutes a criminal.
Mugabe is not only a murderer but a genocidal one. He has tried to kill every white in Zimbabwe (Rhodesia), rivals from the other faction, and anti-communists. He used No. Korean troops to slaughter a reported 10,000 people who resisted his “land reform” confiscation program which caused starvation in some places (similar to that of Stalin’s Russia/Soviet Union, Ho’s similar plans, and the major killer of Mao’s “Land Reform Program”).
Let’s hope the military has finally decided to eliminate this Marxist mass murderer and thief.

I imagine Venezuelans may start stealing that joke.
Oh I get that - and I don’t believe for a moment that the military isn’t going after Mugabe, in spite of their use of his glorified title. I can only imagine what they will deem as being criminal - and if they are successful, what sort of rule they will impose on the country.
There was a thread awhile ago about Nixon calling the people in Africa “little children”. It was an excerpt - and he was talking about how their leaders were like little children when it came to ruling a nation.
I did some more research on it, and in an interview before Watergate Nixon said that after the USSR and China, he wanted to focus on improving relations in South America, and then in Africa - and in Africa specifically helping their leaders develop.
I’m guessing the military overturning Mugabe will end up being a tit-for-tat revenge fest rather than an improvement in government.
Pamwe Chete ......
Racial Fascist Mugabe’s regime, an anti white racist dystopia, is now imploding.Of course Mugabe is a colleague of liberal fascist Barrack Obama, who wishes to balakanize the United States along racial and ethnic lines, using racial shake down artists such as Al Sharpton, a regular former vistor to the white Hut.
Watch as the tin pot dictator shred his people as they die in dystopian blood baths. There but for the votes of patriots, would go the United States.
Soon the calls for financial aid will go out from the liberal fascists in Congress, as they seek to succor these fascists in Zimbabwe, as once again they try to set up yet another kick back scheme to line their pockets.
It is all that is left to steal.
Actually, that’s a pretty good statement for a coup to put out.
You know, PR-wise.
...now leaving Mugabe alive? Maybe less smart.
...that might be Uganda.
Which ones taste like chicken?
The answer is always “The one you’re currently eating.”
I bet Nicholas Maduro is awake and keeping up with the latest developments.
Venezuela is the new Zimbabwe.
He’s 93, what harm can he do? He will end up under quiet house arrest in some villa to live out his last years.
It’s Grace they need to dispose of, she’s the threat to them.
This BBC feed gives us a clearer picture of what is a coup not being called a coup by a faction of the ruling party.

It’s an indicator that this is not a spur of the moment action. They have put some thought into this.
Mrs. Mugabe is not a universally beloved figure. I suspect that they waited for her to make her move, and now can argue that they are reacting to her actions. I think that they planned this out, and merely waited for Mrs. Mugabe to move first, which provided them the justification for acting.
As long as the country does not slide into civil war, the Zimbabwe may be better off.
And it’s worth noting that Mugabe got into power assisted by various elements of Western Liberal Governments and his regime propped up ever since by the same plus UN and EU aid and from others plus a pass from the MSM.
This is what they would have in store for us too, of course.
