It’s hard to get a handle on what is really going on. The army says Mugabe and his family are under house arrest and “safe”. But a lot of stories conflict this morning.
About Grace, yeah, she had to go.
I guess even with that statement it still could be...
Guess I should have paid more attention. I'm surprised Drudge didn't highlight it. Too busy with the Moore take-down, I guess.
Admit it, he'd have a much more wholesome public image if he went by "Bob Mugabe"..
Kim Jong the fat, short NK bum too. The NKs might finally get tired of their oppression and starvation too.
Only the resurrection of Rhodesia can save what is now known as “Zimbabwe”!!!!
You could also take a look on YouTube for “ann7 news live”.
“My name is Idi Amin Dada...That’s two A’s two D’s and one gun!”
Thank you, Lord, for letting me be born in America.
Whenever there was a rebellion in medieval England, the rebels would normally claim that they were acting against the “evil counsellors” surrounding the King, not against the King himself.
I suspect this is something like that.
I saw the news on pingo5.com i even watched the video there on www.pingo5.com
Very well written coup statement. Educated military. I’m sure Christine amapohr is crying tonight. She loved loved Mugabe . I think she sends him birthday wishes every year on cnn. Loves dictators. Think I remember her admitting to sleeping with kadafe.
“Think I remember her admitting to sleeping with kadafe.”
That’s truly debasing yourself.
Couldn’t get much worse, if at all.
His crimes?
Genocide. That is a good place to start.
Africa is Africa, so will the new guys be “better?” Maybe, maybe not, but Mugabe is truly a criminal by any measure.
Put the Brits back in charge.
But in this case, Mugabe and his henchmen ARE evil.
Been there back in the later 90’s and it was truly bad at that time, and that was before wholesale raping and murder of Whites started taking place, and before seizing all White-owned farms and ranches. The nation is starving today and I think Mugabe has run his course. Replacements being any better? Who knows, but based on what I know from visiting and watching what has been happening over the decades, that country can afford to take a chance on a different ruling class.
I think we used to have a White women on FR that would post from her home in Zimbabwe and the conditions she described were horrendous.
Knowing a few US military that worked in the regions Office of Defense Cooperation (not embassy), the stories they tell would give even Vlad the Impaler nightmares.
Of course he is, as were John, Richard II, Charles I, etc. The Zimbabwean Army is avoids condemning him for the same reason the Barons, Henry Bolingbroke, and the Roundheads avoided (at least initially) condemning the King—to mitigate accusations of treason and to avoid a popular backlash due to the ruler’s popularity, both personally and as a symbol of the state.
Mugabe is not going to be around much longer, regardless. I think the Army’s main goal is to ensure he is not succeeded by his wife.
Fully agree with you.
“I think we used to have a White women on FR that would post from her home in Zimbabwe and the conditions she described were horrendous.”
Cathy Buckle IIRC.
