He's a political lifer. After getting a BA in poly sci, he went on to working six years for Chucky Schumer. At the age of 27, he became the youngest member of the NYC City Council in its history. After seven years there, he won a seat in the US House in 1998. He resigned in 2011, after his first sexting scandal, which apparently had been going on for three years.
Also of note is that his crime is federal. Thus, the outcome last November means Felonia von Pantsuit is not available to pardon him. Boo hoo!
