When a relative of mine who lives in Congressman Bergman's district in Michigan called his D.C. office to ask them why he was one of only 24 Republicans who voted against the amendment to stop funding for transgender surgeries in the military, a staff member for Congressman Jack Bergman, retired United States Marine Corps Lieutenant General, and the current U.S. Representative for Michigan's 1st congressional district (Northern Michigan - Bart Stupak's old seat), said that both President Trump and Bergman's friend and fellow retired Marine, Secretary of Defense James "Mad Dog" Mattis, both advised Congressman Bergman to vote against that amendment, so that is what he did. His staff member said that they are also against the military paying for those surgeries, and that they intend to address that issue in the future, in a broader approach to that issue and related issues, and they just don't want that to be a distraction at the present time for other things they are currently working on.
He also convinced Trump to say Iran was in compliance on the nuclear deal.
I am beginning to think Trump didn't make one good appointment.
I'm not sure what's disappointing you about Tillerson, but I could see Mattis as a problem from a mile away. Oddly enough, it was a liberal talk radio host here in NYC who put his finger on that one as soon as he was nominated. He said something to this effect:
"I think you'll find that a man who goes by the nickname 'Mad Dog' is really just a p#ssy. I'd be more afraid of the guy who doesn't have a nickname at all."
The Trump administration can change this now without any input from Congress. I believe the military may have already put a temporary moratorium on them, but there's no reason why they can't simply put an end to it now.
If he turns out to scam the queers, good for him.
>>This is a Newby, sure he will learn or be gone. lol
And running people off for etiquette faux pas is what we’re all about. lol
Just this week he helped persuade the President to certify that Iran was in compliance with the Nuclear deal and clearly they are not. There are other things that bothered me at the time but short term memory is not what it used to be.
That’s a depressing thought.
That would be the right thing to do then.
Sessions just announced he is staying. Not sure what to think about that. So much for that Honor thing.
News to me but I don’t follow it.
It sounds like Trump wants to get rid of Sessions, Rosenstein, and Mueller now.
There is absolutely no reason for Trump to let this continue. Mueller has more conflicts than McDonalds has rude employees. I don't know how this could be any worse if Sessions was a deep state plant. Have you heard one Republican complain about the hundreds of conflicts in the Mueller cabal?
Notice that there is a story right now says the United States Post Office broke the law by allowing employees to campaign for Hillary. Not may have did, yet we see no indictments or even talk of indictments.
DC is hopelessly corrupt and unredeemable.
The DC situation does seem hopeless, and that is so depressing.
May come up for a vote again:

“...Supporters now think they could possibly see a different outcome if the amendment comes up again. They may be right: Six Republicans did not vote or were absent, including: Reps. Sam Johnson of Texas, Raúl Labrador of Idaho, Mark Sanford of South Carolina, David Valadao of California, Rodney Davis of Illinois and Steve Scalise of Louisiana who is still in the hospital recovering from a gun shot wound.
Its possible some of those members would vote yes if it comes up a second time. In addition, Republican freshman Brian Mast of Florida, who voted against the provision, has since said he meant to vote for it.”
