WASHINGTON A woman impersonated the wife of a GOP lawmaker and snuck into the congressional Republican retreat in Philadelphia Thursday, the same day President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence appeared, retreat organizers told lawmakers late Saturday.
The revelation came as the nonprofit Congressional Institute that organizes the retreat investigates how audio of the gathering leaked. In an email to GOP lawmakers, institute president Mark Strand did not directly say that the impersonator was the same person who leaked the audio, but that was the implication.
The Congressional Institute is continuing to investigate this breach in order to fully understand how it happened and to ensure it does not happen again, said Strands email, which was obtained by The Associated Press.
The audio was leaked to several news outlets and first reported by The Washington Post. It reveals lawmakers airing concerns about the practical difficulties and political risks of repealing and replacing President Barack Obamas health care law, among other things. There is also audio of a question-and-answer session with Pence, indicating that the intruder was in the same room as the vice president, which raises Security concerns ...

The psycho bitch may never have had access to the VP. In a case I know of, the person recording a conversation entered the room where a meeting would take place, left a coat hanging on a coat rack with a recording device in the pocket, and then left the room before the meeting even started. There may have been no breach of the VP's security, even though PA law was clearly violated.
This just went up to incredible seriousness.

I read the language. They way I read it, unless there was consent given by all parties (which there clearly was not), then I believe she violated the law.
Again, I am not an attorney.
Given that a primary duty of the Secret Service Protection detail is to vet guests at events where the Pres. and VP are present, one has to wonder exactly how many politically unstable Kerry O’Gradys are on staff.
Recall that for a background check photo IDs and Soc-Sec. numbers are required to be presented before the event when an invitation has been issued. That starts the background check which may or may not raise flags causing a deeper investigation.
And of course that photo ID plus invitation must be presented at time of admission.
Where did this woman obtain information necessary for the forged ID, and invitation in time to produce such and who did the work.
And most important, who in the Secret Service checked her name and documents at the entry point? Was she given a wave through by a Senior GOP staffer? Who was that?
Once again Anwar Sadat and Indira Gandhi were unavailable for comment. (for those unfamiliar with the demise of these leaders, do a search...)
If she was able to enter a room where the VP and/or other VIPs would be present, and plant a device there, then if I was in charge of the Secret Service, I would definitely think there was a serious breach of security. Yes, the device was a recorder ... THIS time.
When James O’Keefe put on a hard hat and high-vis vest and simply pretended to be a telephone repair guy in federal office, I believe he was put in jail and he got a misdemeanor.
They had been trying to make it a felony and had even talked about terrorism and other some crazy stuff.
it was him and his Asian colleague, I believe.
I think a bunch of senators and congressmen should make it abundantly clear that whoever was in charge of security of this event makes very sure that this sort of nonsense never happens again.
Simple argument: What if that person had been an assassin?
It is not unimaginable that an assemblage of Republican leaders could be at extreme risk. What if their food or drink was poisoned? We should also assume that a security lapse like this could have used pre-positioned explosives or firearms, and who knows what all else.
There are a LOT of truly evil people out there that would want nothing better, and both President Trump and congress are their dream targets. The Secret Service and Federal Protective Service (FPS) need to be on the ball.
The FPS has only 900 officers to guard over 9,000 buildings, as well as 13,000 very lightly trained contractor security guards (aka rent-a-cops). Congress may want to revisit this.
Where was the US Secret Service???
We all need to pray daily for our president and VP and their families and our new cabinet!
Great Tagline, Laz!
SS will be getting people killed.
In a case yet to be discovered, the person entered the room where a meeting would take place, left a coat hanging on a coat rack with an EXPLOSIVE device in the pocket, and then left the room before the meeting even started.
It’s Russia.....what? It’s an f’ing Democrat? Say it ain’t so!
Cancha just READ what the law says?
No; that would be to simple; like reading the Bible and figgerin’ IT out!
But the day before, the worker drones were allowed EVERYWHERE!
BINGO
What? No meeting rooms available in the senate or house buildings? They have to go “off campus”? Does that make them feel more important? Anyway, my only comment I can come up with is the use of the word “snuck” in their. report. I think “sneaked” is more grammatically acceptable.
This is so embarrassing on so many levels. The GOP couldn’t count to two if you gave them two sticks. WTF
People on this site need to stop saying everything is fake news and start understanding what we are dealing with...I first posted this story and most on that thread said it was a lie. I said I could see the gop saying it and wanted to know who recorded it.
