Wealthy Cruz and Bush Donors Dump Millions Into Hillary Clinton’s Campaign
Gateway Pundit ^ | 5/9/2016 | Jim Hoft

Posted on 05/09/2016 6:02:43 PM PDT by GilGil

Renaissance Technologies, a hedge fund founded by billionaire James Simons, donated over $13 million to Sen. Ted Cruz’s failed presidential campaign. For a guy who’s supposed to be pretty smart with his money, the ROI on that one has got to sting. Nevertheless, now that Mr. Cruz is out of the race, Mr. Simons has begun pouring millions of dollars into Hillary Clinton‘s campaign, with Renaissance Technologies donating over $2 million to Ms. Clinton so far this election cycle. Euclidean Capital—also owned by Mr. Simons—has given the Clinton campaign over $7 million in contributions, and such figures are likely to increase as Ms. Clinton slowly transitions her attention from Democratic Primary opponent Bernie Sanders to the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, Donald Trump.

You laid it out there exactly right.

You clearly stated exactly the issues involved.

None of it flies with me either.

What was the merit in what Roo_Girl said?

That there was no difference between Trump supporting local politicians with small donations that essentially balanced out and billionaire backers shopping between Cruz & Hillary, giving them millions to advance an agenda?

No, actually it didn’t.

What’s sad, is that some folks don’t know why.

The masks are off, that’s for sure.
I may have to take a break myself. It’s absolutely incredible to see arguments here for Hillary Clinton.
Astonishing. Nauseating.

Much thanks for your reply and thoughts.
Speaking for myself, I all appreciate all members posting all information that helps me to better examine my beliefs, values and interests and that of my candidates.
Even when it causes me to question myself and my candidate.

This latest post is yet another disturbing example of a 69 year old NYC political Weathervane.
Pete Wilson, Gov of CA was called that exact moniker.
And so will Mr. Trump.
His constant opinionating at times contradicts and undermines his moral authority.
I am forced to hold my nose and vote for Trump.
I would far more trust voting for a 37 year old Military Lieutenant, than loose lips New Yawker.
At least the military kid understands the value of being humble, thinking before he speaks, and maintaining leadership bearing.

Trump is his own worst enemy in his biggest deal ever.

RE: “Donald Trump Says London’s Muslim Mayor Could Be Exception to Ban (Dammit)

Donald Trump proposed a temporary ban on all Muslims entering the U.S. should he be elected president, but he might have at least one name on his list of exceptions: Sadiq Khan, the new mayor of London.

“There will always be exceptions,” Trump said on Monday, according to the New York Times. “I was happy to see that [he was elected] … Because I think if he does a great job, it will really—you lead by example, always lead by example. If he does a good job and frankly if he does a great job, that would be a terrific thing.”

Yes, I understand and I see your point. I understand why businessmen donate to both sides; it is a business decision. A shame that things shake down that way. I also think that when we are talking billionaires that there’s not a heck of a lot of difference in the amounts we’re talking. For example, 13 million is just 1.3% of a flat 1 billion, obviously 50,000 is less, but it’s not like 1.3% is a large percentage.

To speak about why some donate to both parties at the same time and this person seems to have changed parties half way through would just be guessing. Maybe someone will ask.

Would you want to clarify your question/observation?
If perhaps you are making a WC Fields type comment re prostitution I think it is ridiculous.

There is more than a monetary difference in playing the business game as its done in your industry, where everyone knows and plays the game and in hollowing out your country so you can cash in. Its my country and Americans are my people and I sure as hell know the difference.

When someone runs for office knowing they aren’t eligible and knowing they are shredding the constitution and America’s safe guards; when they want to double immigration and 500% increase H1B visa’s when Americans are out of work; when they leave America’s secrets out to be plundered so they can hide their shady deals; when they leave American ambassadors & staff to die and spin the circumstances I know that they are raping the country to feather their nests.

I know it and so do their backers; they know they can be bought and sold. That’s why they don’t care which one they buy. They hate Trump because he can’t be bought. Even now he is accepting contributions for the party. The $ won’t buy him.

If you want to trash Trump and thus support Hillary, find a forum that supports her and do it to your heart’s content.

You won’t have to put up with “jerks” like us there.

No, don’t abandon the forum to these folks.

They’ve got almost every other place now.

I suspect if you look at the overall wealth of these people the percentage of total wealth is really not much different for the donation amounts. For you and I (or certainly for me) there’s a huge difference between the two numbers. But I would think for billionaires they don’t see a lot of difference between 1.3% of their (minimum) wealth and 0.05%.

Trump is going to be our nominee.

So either you will support him, or you will decide that you can’t and let Hillary have a better chance of becoming president.

With her you get zero of what you want.

None the less here you are still trying to list all the bad things Trump has done.

You profess to be just too good a Conservative to be comfortable with Trump, but think you are a better Conservative if you can damage him at this point, so Hillary can win.

You’re welcome to you opinion. I don’t share it.

Coming up with more negative things to say about Trump hour by hour, is not how we defeat Hillary.

So either folks will be a Conservative who can support Trump, or they will be a Conservative that will help Hillary.

Oh wait, Conservatives don’t help Hillary.

You will get zero that you want from Hillary.

You will get plenty you want from Trump.

You’re not fooling anyone by what you are doing.

You understand this is no secret. The early donations are the cost of doing business in NYC in real estate and the building trade. You have to move in the right circles and pols are not shy about asking. The donations since 2011 are more targeted as Trump tried to work within the system to strengthen the country.

Trump was a Republican since 1987. Then he became disgusted, like many of us. He tried the Independent route for a two year 1999-01, he was a Democrat for 8 years & then back to the Republican side in 2009. Trump was disillusioned by the behavior of the party but finally decided to get more involved and try to bring about change. That coincided with his campaign contributions becoming essentially only to Republican and directed toward conservative organizations.

If you listen to his recorded interviews from 1980/1990’s he has said the same things about trade, the economy and America’s identity throughout the time period. Trump was not a politician, he became one as a last resort because the situation has gone from bad to worse and no one was addressing the real issues putting people out of work, abandoning our military and gutting the American dream.

You’re right, I was not trashing Trump and I certainly am not supporting Hillary. If you look at my comment history it is clear that I supported Cruz, but when Cruz supporters were inaccurate about Trump I spoke up. The latest has been the nonsense about Trump saying he was going to raise the minimum wage, which he did not say. I don’t have time for adoration of any politician; let’s talk plain truth. I’m fine with someone disagreeing. But, I also don’t have time for people who think they can bully someone else into agreeing with them or shutting up.
