Donald Trump: Ben Carson May Help Pick VP
US News ^ | 5/5/2016 | Joseph P. Williams

Having essentially locked up the Republican presidential nomination, Donald Trump says he's about to set up a committee to find a potential running mates -- and he's reportedly wants Dr. Ben Carson, his former nomination rival-turned-campaign surrogate, to help conduct the search...

Putting the retired neurosurgeon on the veep search committee, however, could generate some buzz among Trump supporters: a recent public-opinion survey found that voters want Trump to pick Carson as his running mate.

But Trump on Wednesday intimated that he may have someone else in mind: "I think probably I would like to go with somebody with great political experience," Trump told Good Morning America. Trump also told CNN that his former rival, Ohio Gov. John Kasich, who dropped out of the race Wednesday, could also be on the list.

Most who have opposed Trump have done so because they wanted to see a doctrinaire conservative be the GOP candidate and they rightly saw Trump as an obstacle to this.

But now that they have the Trump “lemon” and nothing else on their plates, most, if wise, will now make lemonade. And a pretty good lemonade, I believe it will be. I’ve been waiting for the right to start feeding into Donald’s deal dynamic instead of just carping at him.

Wow. Giving this job to a guy with “the pathological temperament of a child molester”. What is Trump thinking?

I can see how speaking from a different point of view could confuse people.

As a doctor, he has the right to have beliefs and recommendations that we would never, ever ask a government to enforce (like don’t overeat Dunkin Donuts, etc.)

Trump was shooting from the hip when he talked like that. He didn’t appreciate Carson’s sin-to-salvation Christian witness. That’s not good, but at least Trump has fixed his error.

Dr Carson could contribute mightily to a new health insurance and health care policy.

Strategically speaking, the VP needs to be a fresh faced non politician “Latina.” She needs to be from the private sector with a track record of world class entrepreneurial success.

A Spanish speaking free market small government female would absolutely seal the deal for Trump.

Kasich is more anti-gun than Carson, and Carson is still anti-gun!

Trump thinks and acts as an executive. . .not as a politician. He will choose someone that fits his quest for excellence and can take over the ship in eight years.

Trump is going to pick someone who is strong and very capable and has Washington experience. OF those that ran against him, my best guess is Rick Perry from Texas. He was a good governor, is a lot more talented and accomplished than people give him credit.

Other candidates I could see is Scott Brown from Massachusetts. If he thought they would be a good team, and she would understand that he is the president and she carries out his policies, Nikki Haley from SC. Susan Martinez from NM. And as a really big surprise...Condi Rice.

Even if you don’t like Trump or even hate him, even if you are not a fan of Alex Jones or hate HIM, even if you are into the crazy NEVERTRUMP “thing” if you love America — the idea — and want it to be here for your kids and grand kids, PLEASE WATCH THIS INTERVIEW! The really important stuff starts around 2:27.
And please share it with any of the NEVERTRUMP people you know. We’re in what could well be the LAST DITCH in the fight for this country!

I really don’t care who Trump picks as his VP, since he’s the decision maker at the top. But ALL of those picks would be terrible. Rick Perry is a corrupt amnesty shill. Scott Brown is a two time loser in the NE and has shown himself to be less than trustworthy. Nikki Haley isn’t anywhere near as popular a governor as the numbers last year showed. And after she campaigned against raising the gas tax and advocated to raise it less than a month after her reelection, she’s reviled. Susan Martinez? Maybe for another candidate, but not Trump.

Condeleeza? Why not Colon Powell?

I too admire Newt, but he has made some colossal poor calls before.

Yes, he has a very broad political knowledge. Often too close to bad players.

LOL...it’s true. All we have to do is make sure your caretakers don’t give you the keyboard for more than a few minutes every day. Then, we’ll be spared a great deal of the garbage.
