Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz on Thursday said front-runner Donald Trump had defied common sense and embraced political correctness by coming out against North Carolinas law barring people from using public restrooms of the opposite sex.
He said he thought men should be able to go into the girls bathroom if they want, scoffed Mr. Cruz, a U.S. senator from Texas. Let me ask you, have we going stark raving mad? This is political correctness. This is nonsense.

Single stall restrooms are not a problem. The rest of this cr** is all legal stuff....and where are the judges' minds?
I don’t think he is backing the movement here, he is simply avoiding it.
I heardhim saying that there is an overreaction by NC and other States and they are losing Business because of it.
That being said, the new Laws are simply a Reaction to the Rabble Rousers, not an Action trying to dictate Behavior. They started it and the States in question are trying to define the terms. Like anything else, it’s perception over reality and unfortunately perception always wins.
I don’t agree with Trump here. I think he is actualy trying to sidestep the issue as not to be labeled a Hater, like I obviously am.
Already had a “discussion” about this with the Wife’s Ssiter who lives in MS where they just passed a Religious Liberty Law. The discussion didn’t go well...
Women in the Infantry.....OK?
Men in the ladies room.....not OK?
“You’ve come a long way baby!”
I don’t agree with Trump on this and oftentimes wish he would just keep his mouth shut, but this is an irrelevant issue at the moment and the question was asked to create controversy and get Republicans fighting, which a-hole Ted Cruz dutifully did. The man is a complete ass wipe. He’s mathematically eliminated but is going to continue to jump on stuff like this to further create division and try to destroy the party with a contested Notice nobody asks Ted these questions because nobody cares what the hell he has to say about anything. It’s the culture warriors like you who can’t understand what the real issues are at this point and what can be fought another day.
I am trying to see where he endorsed it. I have read the transcript, I have seen the video and all he states is that the law should stay.
we live n evil times, there are evil laws. protect your family - it’s your responsibility - and duty. i’ve always felt that way, and the enemy is legion. be prepared. and suspicious.
There are a lot of important issues. The safety of our children is right up at the top of the important ones.
This issue is tied with the stability of our culture.
Just what I was thinking. Laws don’t protect you from perverts. It’s disquieting to think that indecent exposure laws may be superseded though.
You should not do so in any case. It's called parenting.
What about other bathrooms, say, at a convenience store down the road or fast food place? Would those be okay? I would probably have a need to use a facility at some point.
You have a greater chance of being killed by an illegal alien than seeing a trans person in a public restroom. You have a greater chance your job is outsourced than seeing a trans person in a bathroom. I live in NYC - in Manhattan no less - and I have never seen one in a public bathroom.
He said, North Carolina did something it was very strong and theyre paying a big price. And theres a lot of problems. And I heard one of the best answers I heard was from a commentator yesterday saying, leave it the way it is, right now.
He added that before the law passed, there had been very few problems but now North Carolina is experiencing an exodus of businesses and strife from people on both sides of the issue.
You leave it the way it is, he said. There have been very few complaints the way it is.
And in response to a follow-up question, he said that if Caitlyn Jenner were to walk into Trump Tower and want to use a bathroom, he would be comfortable with her choosing any bathroom she wanted. That is correct, Mr. Trump said.
By You leave it the way it is he obviously means that NC should not have passed the law. I dont know how hard the Trump campaign is going to have to spin and walk this back but Sarah Saunders Huckabee (Hucksters daughter) was doing just that on CNN just a little while ago.
So if we do nothing and enforce the current laws, everything is fine
If we create new laws, it is just larger government for feel good initiatives that will do nothing.
So you want to spend millions and millions of dollars creating federal bathroom regulations? A Federal Bureau of Potties? With their own armed police force going from bathroom to bathroom looking for the wrong gender on the wrong potty?
What more can we practically do?
I don’t agree with the Trump stance, but unlike you, I have a hard time getting upset about this campaign issue when we have things like ISIS, Amnesty, Obamacare, Jobs, etc.
Or actual process, you know, here in reality.
You use the word transgender but you refuse to grasp that anyone who happens to "identify" with a different sex that day can go hang out in the bathroom or locker room of their choice. Good thing they're aren't many sexually perverted people out there in our society. Otherwise this could be a cause of concern for normal people.
It's good to know that you don't think cultural issues aren't important to our society and that a guy who doesn't have the sand to stand up to a small percentage of perverted and mentally ill people DOES have the courage to stand up to the hundreds of millions who will curse him for trying to build a wall. I'm sure this same guy will have no problem finding the courage to negotiate great trade deals with communist totalitarians while stopping Muslim mass murderers. Those folks are pussycats compared to the gay mafia.
Well that’s that. Not voting for him. Let all the Johnny-come-latelies to this formerly “conservative” party, who keep pushing the envelope on social conservatism, vote for him.
This stuff is all last-ditch pre-next Wednesday battlefield preparation. Unfortunately the zealots have miscalculated. The states where the votes are going to be held isn’t the evangelical solid south, the Bible belt or anything of the sort.
Despite what I feel and my concurrence with you on what he said, what he was asked and nothing I can see as an endorsement of the specific state law, the Cruz side and the media that wants the real Hillary threat (Trump) will not give up trying to tank Trump for an all-too-eager self important zealot will persist. The states coming in which they think this gambit aren’t the sort that will necessarily agree with them.
We shall see. The countdown is on for the next 5.
