NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. As Donald Trump looks poised for victory in New York, he continues to lead with Republican voters on this side of the Hudson as well, according to the latest Rutgers-Eagleton Poll.
Breaking the 50-percent mark in New Jersey for the first time since announcing his candidacy last summer, Trump was named by 52 percent of registered Republican voters as their first choice if they had to cast their primary vote today.
Ohio Gov. John Kasich has ascended to a distant second in the Garden State, with 24 percent. Texas Sen. Ted Cruz comes in third at 18 percent, though support for the senator grew here in the days following his Wisconsin primary win.

The difference is NJ citizens will vote directly for a candidate.
It won’t be a GOP rigged outcome like CO and WY.
Let the chips fall where they may.
Ted is all about stealing it on the second ballot. He is scum of the highest order...
That’s right. Ted’s going to win NJ /s/. As I mentioned, Trump will get about 60-65 in NY when it’s all said and done.
If Trump wins 80 plus New York Delegates he pretty much eliminates Cruz period.
I just don’t understand why anyone endorses Kasich.
you need 8 state wins to be even nominated so all his delegates can’t vote on the first ballot.
And on the second ballot they are not bound to Kasich unless they are postal workers.
Kasich takes more votes from Trump than Cruz, and I think after the first ballot Trump will get most of the Kasich delegates. The other delegates will come from Carson, Christie and Rubio. Nobody likes Toxic personality Cruz the Liar who Rubio, Carson and Kasich have called out on lies. Its like Trump said Lyin Ted

Don’t know about Indies.
Go Trump! Big victory tomorrow night.
so we look at the swing states then. FL cruz never win a county Trump won all but one county and got way over a half million more votes .
Cruz came third.
VA never won a county, came third. trump won
Oh came third again.
Nh Trump won where was cruz again?
Any other swing states which matter, well CO I suppose , but the people could not vote for their candidate so we do not know.
poster forgets cruz came third in all swing states FL, VA, OH and never won a county in FL.
Noticed the same or they are long time freepers who I have never seen on here before or don’t remember.
Freepers like you, and others I have talked and debated for years, but these handful of cruz voters I have never seen and usually resort to ignoring questions, facts and then resorts to name calling or diversion tactics.
well cruz came third in those important swing states too, FL, VA, OH.
cruz is the weakest candidate I have seen for some time. Outside of his small circle then he has no support as we have seen when voters are allowed to vote for their canddiate.

I’m actually beginning to think that In an election, Sanders would be the more formidable RAT candidate. He is a Commie, but at least he’ semi-honest about his beliefs. Clinton OTOH, has not moral compass whatsoever and I think even RATs know that that isn’t a good thing for them either. Anyway, tomorrow, the relative numbers don’t matter. So Having to run against HIllary may be easier than Bernie.
What it boils down to is whether or not identity politics is still a viable ploy for the Democrats, because that’s all Hillary has to run on.
I love it. Another string of 3rd places finishes for Cruz just like the south.
Cruzmentum only counts when your stealin the votes
awesome! enjoy your first Trump vote. Hope we get to do it a 2nd time ;)
I live in NJ and it pains me to say it but there is no way that Trump, Cruz or George Washington would take NJ as a Republican in November.
There are lots of conservative, right leaning folks here but now they are hopelessly outnumbered by the urban poor and New York/Philadelphia exiles who migrated out into the suburbs (and now out into the more rural areas),
The democrat machine will drag to the polls whoever and whatever they need to win come Presidential election time.
Two states that no Republican will win n in November are NY and NJ. So I dont think they should have much input on who our nominee is.

Brilliant commentary.
Trump crushes his opponents in NE, actually puts those states in play, or we could go with the guy that was crushed in the south.
Unlikely, yes, but not impossible...
Trump will win New Jersey handily.
In your heart of hearts, you know that.
So kindly take your transparent and feeble propaganda elsewhere...
