Does not compute. Islam is a religion of peace. I know this because both George W. Bush and Barack Hussein Obama* said so.
* The Founding Fathers never envisioned POTUS (a majority of SCOTUS and half of Congress) being a domestic enemy of the republic.

Its not hard to guess what happens to nations that begin using foreign auxiliaries as their soldiers.
Arminius comes to mind.

Israel
England
France
Just off the top of my head.
Pretty standard way of earning citizenship.

LOL!
The late Jack Douglas wrote that traditional Japanese music sounded to him like Sessue Hayakawa stapling two cats together.

You are half right. To join the armed forces, you do not have to be a citizen, just a legal resident.
To be commissioned as an officer, you have to both be a citizen and be able to gain and maintain a SECRET security clearance. Which implies having spent around 10 years in the country beforehand so the investigators have enough info to make an assessment.
It’s not like he got off the plane and went straight to the recruiters to become an officer.

I believe that the US still tries and executes spies but we just don’t hear about it anymore. Hate to say but it would make sense especially if simply revealing the name of the spy exposes US intelligence assets. Better to deal with them in secret.

There is also a long list of turncoats who were American born and raised.
Aldrich Ames and Robert Hansen were both born here and both likely caused much more damage than this Lt. Cmdr.

Lots of countries do. It’s still suicidal and idiotic!

Split nationalities and being foreign born raises the potential for one to be a turncoat.
Maybe I’m too “old school”?
To: batterycommander
Your embellishment of naval operations is entertaining.
