Taiwanese (typically) HATE the Chinese.
The way things are going, I believe Taiwan will be amicably reconciled with the People's Republic—at Taiwan's request, even—within my lifetime. Ethnic, cultural, and economic ties to the mainland will be powerful inducements compared to the erratic, unsure course our elites are charting both domestically and internationally.
