In a major shift of Catholic tenets of faith, pope releases paper instructing Catholics on how to live, tells them to accept homosexuals
Pope Francis, who has long revealed his liberal positions through interviews, came out on Friday in an official statement calling on Catholics to be more accepting of homosexuals as well as divorced Catholics.
While he didn't change official church doctrines in his paper, which is an "apostolic exhortation" instructing Catholics on how to live, the pope paved the way for a serious shift in the Catholic church away from central tenets of the faith.
"A pastor cannot feel that it is enough simply to apply moral laws...as if they were stones to throw at people's lives," he wrote in the paper, cited by CNN. "By thinking that everything is black and white, we sometimes close off the way of grace and growth."
"I understand those who prefer a more rigorous pastoral care which leaves no room for confusion. But I sincerely believe that Jesus wants a Church attentive to the goodness which the Holy Spirit sows in the midst of human weakness," he added.
"Every person, regardless of sexual orientation, ought to be respected in his or her dignity and treated with consideration."
Pope Francis' statements appear in his paper "On Love in the Family," entitled "Amoris Laetitia" in Latin. It spans over 260 pages, and is based on two conferences of the world's Catholic bishops known as synods, which were called by the pope.

The Bible has had thousands of prophecies over the centuries and they have come true just as the Bible said they would and the remaining prophecies predicted will also come true. Believe it or not. It is that simple. These people are in jeopardy of hell because of this pope’s apostate beliefs, teachings and guidance. My strong suggestion is these people quit listening to this guy and start reading the Bible.

I’ve been deceived before by excerpts from this pope so I’ll proceed with caution.
Homosexuals see the word “acceptance” and think it should mean “endorsement”. I have no problem accepting homosexuals as humans and worthy of all the respect and kindness due any person. I don’t believe they should be beaten or denied most fundamental rights.
My limits would have to do with employment that requires extended time spent with children or which carries religious authority.
Let’s ask the pope whether the Catholic Church is ready to perform gay marriages and see what his answer is. If he says “no”, then he’s saying there are limits to this “acceptance” he is preaching and if he says “yes” then we’ll know he’s a full-blown liberal apostate who think current pop culture is more important than the direction of God’s Word.

Love the sinner but hate the sin is not found in the Bible. Although it is our job to preach the gospel to sinners, God is the judge and He has declared those outside the faith to be His enemies. God is not sitting by hoping people like Him.
Tolerance is not the same as acceptance. No Christian should accept homosexuality. Everyone is welcome at church, but those who openly flout God’s law and refuse to repent, cannot stay.
I completely agree. I don't like this "Pope", but the MSM does have an agenda and reads too much into things when it suits them.
I live in South Carolina now, there is a Baptist Church on EVERY corner of any main street!

Even using the term "sexual orientation" is elevating homosexual perversion to the same level as sex between a man and a woman, a man and a wife. Sex within marriage to a man and a woman is not only sanctioned by God, but He created it. Jesus affirmed sex in marriage (Matthew 19:5).
What Jorge and the Catholic church is doing is saying that sin is not sin. It is leading people astray, and God does not look at all favorably on this practice. In fact, God says He will judge it most severely.
I think she had a very good and legitimate reason for discouraging Jorge from joining the priesthood.
