I live in South Carolina now, there is a Baptist Church on EVERY corner of any main street!
and 50% of the people inside are Yankees, most southerners are going to the rock n roll churches! This is definitely NOT the Bible Belt like us Yankees thought it was, not any more.
At least you have shaken the dust of Connecticut off your boots. South Carolina is, IIRC, not the best place to encounter actual Catholicism. OTOH, I have never been one of those who imagines that only Catholics get to heaven. Behave. I am certainly hoping to share heaven with you.
