Shortly after he claimed to be a unifier during his Super Tuesday press conference, Donald Trump was at it again, lambasting so-called conservatives who dont share his liberal position on Planned Parenthood, continuing to insist he applauds the group because it allegedly does a lot of good of good things for womens health.
Similar logic applies to his position on ObamaCare. He loves the coercive freedom- and job-killing individual mandate, which is the heart of ObamaCare, because he doesnt want to see bodies in the street, a classic liberal rhetorical scare tactic. Planned Parenthood may do the occasional mammogram referral, but the heart of its business has been abortions, and money, the saying goes is fungible. His support of Planned Parenthood is incompatible with his claim to have seen the pro-life light.

TRUMP PLANNED PARENTHOOD PING
Old news. Get a life.
Big freakin’ deal. Trump got bigger fish to fry.....
What is his liberal position on Planned Parenthood? Is it any different than the GOPs which has done absolutely nothing?
I thought I heard him saying he would cut abortion service funding and continue other Planned Parenthood funding? If that indeed is what he said, I have no problem with that.
Let me see... hmmm...
I’m sure Lefty leaning women just hate that.
Meanwhile he’s promising to defund the abortion end of it, and they don’t seem to mind.
Golly gosh oh gee, this is tough for some armatures to figure out.
And, he has taken away the issue from the democrats.
“I thought I heard him saying he would cut abortion service funding and continue other Planned Parenthood funding? If that indeed is what he said, I have no problem with that.”
That’s exactly what he has said. Selective hearing just won’t let Trump detractors acknowledge that part of his statements on Planned Parenthood. Trump is pro life, but has said that he might make exceptions for the health of the mother.
If Trump’s aim is to be populist, he could do worse than to split this hair.
Not going further, if Trump is being merely populist, is our own fault. How many of us are now nodding and winking at non-abortion measures of interfering with the cradle that the hateress Margaret Sanger championed?
What wrong with supporting Planned Parent if they stopped the Abortions?
I’m just against Abortion.
So smart move. It was funny in the last debate he made Cruz and Rubio look like they were against helping women with cervical cancer and I don't even think they realized it.
How does he do this? Does he wait for congress to pass something that defunds? Does he use an executive order?
I don’t really care what anyone says, I think this is brilliant general election strategy.
First of all, Trump’s editorial on abortion makes it clear he is pro-life. Secondly, by attacking only abortion and not all of Planned Parenthood, he immunizes himself from left-wing attacks in the general that he “hates women”. Thirdly, the Republicans in Congress passed PP funding (with no caveats) through Obama’s remaining time in office, so all of their (and their surrogates’) outrage here loses most of its punch.
Trump’s position here strikes a good balance that supports a pro-life position without getting bogged down with a bunch of “hates minorities and black people” labels that WOULD STICK when going up against Hillary. Good gamesmanship on Trump’s part. Campaigning on shutting down all of PP as a top issue is general election poison when going up against a woman. Every debate, he’d get bludgeoned over the head with it and lose potential votes from Democrat women who otherwise lean conservative on economic issues.
That goes with "we are all Muslims".
“Similar logic applies to his position on ObamaCare. He loves the coercive freedom- and job-killing individual mandate,”
Nope.
TRUMP PLANNED PARENTHOOD PING
That’s what he’s said....over and over and over....
Thanks for asking this question. There are those of us that think contraception is evil. It seems we have no voice. The pill and the sexual revolution has been a cultural and economic disaster for our country, so we are supposed to accept that “Planned Parenthood’s distribution of birth control is a wonderful thing? I just can’t.
