RUSH: There's another story here, folks, not sure how this is going to be received at the Rubio camp. "Lawmakers are flocking to support Marco Rubio's White House campaign after former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush dropped out of the GOP race on Saturday. A slew of Republicans in Congress who previously backed Bush are moving to support Rubio as he battles GOP rivals Donald Trump, Sen. Ted Cruz (Texas) and Ohio Gov. John Kasich. Rubio's campaign announced ahead of Tuesday's caucus in Nevada that Sen. Dean Heller (Nev.) and Rep. Mark Amodei (Nev.) would be backing his campaign."
And some representatives from Florida that were all Bush backers are now moving over to Rubio. Bob Dole says, "As much as I love John Kasich, you know, Rubio is probably a better candidate. And he's young." I guess it means Kasich isn't, so Bob Dole on ABC -- do we have this? Yeah, grab sound bite number 30. I mentioned this earlier. This is Rubio on The O'Reilly Factor last night. Answer this for yourselves, but I'm not sure that this is what on-the-fence, if there are any, conservative primary voters actually want to hear.

Rush is panicked. If he screws this up, he retires now. This new party is going Trump BIG time. If Rush wants political and professional suicide,he doesn’t come ou STRONG for Trump. He will be exposed as GOPe and his audience drops by 60 %. Think hard Rush. You are very wobbly. We don’t like wobbly. ( ask Beck.)
Rush is right and he he is wrong.
He is right in that compromise with current democrat party is impossible. Hillary/Bernie do not want any compromise to the right of center.
Rush is wrong in that Reagan was not conservative on fiscal matters. On military matters he was very good. He refurbished military devastated by Carter.
But Reagan was actually very bad on fiscal matters. Big government expanded huge, with federal spending taking a giant leap upwards.
FACTS regarding Reagan’s fiscal policies:
1985 Reagan, as president, spent $5-billion to bail out the Continental Bank of Illinois. He also added
$9-billion to the International Monetary Fund so Mexico, Brazil and Argentina could pay the interest on
their big debts to the American banks. At the same time, he would not bail out American farmers.
Reaganâs 4th year budget was $141-billion more than Carterâs 4th year budget. Reaganâs total deficits for 4 years was 4-times the total of Carter 4-year total deficits.
Reagan increased the national debt in 4-years as much as all the presidents from Hoover to Carter did.
Reagan Supported the Brady Gun Bill in a speech at George Washington University in 1991.
In 1992 Reagan supported NAFTA (North American Free Trade Act) As a candidate in 1979 Reagan first talked about a North American accord. In 1992 Reagan made a plea in a Wall Street Journal editorial to, âtear down that trade wallâ.
I missed the other thread so very glad this thread came along. This is much more important than so many other threads posted today. I hope it stays.
Congress has the purse strings.
Reagan doubled tax receipts.
The Democrats tripled spending.
It wasn’t only the military that saw increased spending. The Democrats spend like drunken sailors.
I won’t say Reagan was perfect, but with a Democrat House and Senate, he achieved a lot, the best he could do IMO.
If only he had had a Republican House and Senate.
Count how many SPENDING bills Reagan vetoed. I think your left hand fingers will be too many.
Please do not mis-understand me. I agree completely Reagan achieved a lot. He achieved more than any Bush ever achieved. But his record is not one of a fiscal conservatism.
Please... be serious. Rush is hardly “panicked”. That’s ridiculous. He’s also not at all wobbly, and Beck isn’t even in the same league. As far as what you like, Rush could care less.
Rush Blows, alright.
Reagan had a democrat congress. Look up the “Grace commission “. I learned a lot when I saw what happened to that.
He and pal Marco, a couple of deep-throated something-or-others.
Meet the new RINO.
Same as the old RINO.
You are a loon. Is that you, Beck? My god, the idiots on this site explode on Tuesdays.
They got their Blowing down.
In a situation where the Democrats have a lock on both houses in Congress, if you need to get the military back up to speed, you have to agree to spending on the other side.
Reagan would have left us with no military if he didn’t work with Congress. I may not like it, but that’s the hard cold facts.
Reagan was governor of California. I took over from Jerry Brown’s dad. There was a big deficit. He got that cleaned up before left office, a great fiscal Conservative.
In Washington he hasn’t so lucky.
You do what you can do.
