1. Trump, A+ -- Fought like a champion. Finally, someone with the guts to call out our nation for being 15 years at war, still killing our sons and daughters so politicians can put a feather in their cap, and most of them calling for more war. Bush wants BWIII, Bush War III
2. Carson, A-, quietly but effectively said that he was in it for the people, that he'd been asked to run, and that he wasn't there for any other reason. Outstanding.
3. Rubio, B+, Say what you like, but Rubio wiped the floor with Cruz on the immigration question. The April 2015 video shows Cruz supporting 'talking about what to do with immigrants after the wall is built.' It shows him calling for massive increases in H1B visas.
4. Cruz, C, Clearly the most knowledgeable about the supreme court vacancy. He needs to stop misrepresenting others' positions. Trump called him out on the Planned Parenthood question. Trump has clearly called for defunding PP if they keep doing abortions. If they voluntarily stop doing abortions, then he would support their doing breast exams and pap smears and the like.
5. Kasich, C, Did a Mr. Rogers in the neighborhood act. Hillary Clinton will eat his lunch.
6. Bush, F-, This man is totally lacking in insight. He actually called for another war in the middle east AND he wants to fund Al Qaeda in Syria. He's simply not up to the task.
Actually, what I said was that Carson’s integrity was better than the others’ lack of it.
Beyond that, I do think that demographics are a good reason to pick a VP candidate.
I would be looking for a capable person first, and then for one that could sway a state not already in my column or sway a demographic group that would help me or hurt my opponent.
Carson is better on that scale than Cruz who is from Texas. Texas will go republican no matter what. Hispanics might see Ted as one of them. I’m not sure on that one.
Rubio would sway Florida and he’d have Hispanic support.
Bush is actually dislike in Florida and he’d sway white anglo saxon amnesty pimps, I suppose.
Kasich would sway Ohio and he also is a wasp.
Carson has both Michigan and Maryland as home states, so that would put new territory into play. He also is black, and that will sway some of those blacks in his direction.
So, analyzing just those six, Rubio, Carson, and Kasich come off best as VP picks.
Did Cruz attempt a few words in Spanish?
I thought I heard something, but I wasn’t sure.
It sure sounded "Spanish" to me, Cruz totally lost his composure, just to prove to Rubio he understood what Rubio said to his Spanish audience... Now I know a few words in Spanish, but I do not speak the language...
Cruz's whole speech pattern changed when he launched at Rubio... in 'Spanish'.... But Rubio was just too self absorbed to allow Cruz to fully expose himself... and talked right over him.
Glad to know you wife is a woman! :-)
Not any more. Most of his fundraisers have moved to Cruz.
Cruz is an outsider, and no reasonable person can dispute that fact.
Well, a reasonable person can point out that he is in the US Senate, that he was a Texas solicitor before that, and that he was a Scotus law clerk before that.
IOW, he’s been part of government.
Neither Trump nor Carson have been, to my knowledge anyway, ever part of any governmental agency or office.
It wasn’t an attempt; they rolled out like he was a native speaker. It was a great comeback to Rubio. Do have to hand it to Rubio; he acted like he didn’t hear a word Cruz said. Rubio also didn’t deny what he said to the Spanish-speaking TV station.
That's because it's a different language, idiot. If Cruz' speech pattern hadn't changed, you might have a point; but those words flowed with absolutely no effort.
I might have it on DVR. I wasn’t sure at the time. Whatever it was, those 2 disposed of it pretty quickly.
He took in more money than Cruz in last quarter’s reporting.
That’s because Rubio knew he had been caught lying and it wouldn’t have done him any good to continue the argument.
Cruz has the most money in the bank now, by far. Carson spent tons of money doing fundraising.
Cruz’ super PACs are flush with cash and a number of other super PACs have moved to Cruz.
How can anyone claim Cruz is part of the establishment? The GOPe would much rather have Trump as President than Cruz. That isn’t even up for debate.
True to form Cruz supporters are the nastiest of the nasty. If you were not such a jerk I would look up a link, wherein the Texas Senate race Cruz's opponent challenged Cruz to a debate in Spanish... but Cruz refused... I was told by a Texas Freeper that Cruz does NOT speak Spanish... So I was stunned to see Cruz out himself to prove to Rubio that he does in fact speak Spanish.
Others said Cruz speaks enough Spanish to order off a take out menu... I do not know, the depth of his Spanish speaking skills, but Cruz let Rubio get the better of him last night on public television, launching into what sounded like fluent Spanish to me.
I wasn't talking about Laura's interview (he says a lot of things to a lot of people), he has said before, and also last night that they do "a lot of good things" - you may only want to hear what you want to hear, but that will only get us another liberal in the Oval Office.
("But, but he wants to build a wall"!!)
I know, I know...
Don’t confuse the TDS with the facts.
That's like saying you would support the KKK if they stopped hating blacks. That's nice.
Yes, the GOP is corrupt. Still not a valid reason to vote in a liberal.
I’m just setting the record straight re: what Trump actually said. For me, as I said in my post, I would not fund PP at all.
