First on CNN: Ted Cruz apologizes to Ben Carson

Windham, New Hampshire (CNN)The day after winning the Iowa caucuses, Ted Cruz issued an apology to Republican rival Ben Carson for falsely telling Iowa caucusgoers that the retired neurosurgeon planned to quit the race, calling it a "mistake."

Cruz said in a statement Tuesday that his campaign staff saw a CNN report that Carson was dropping out, although CNN had not characterized Carson's actions that way.

"Last night when our political team saw the CNN post saying that Dr. Carson was not carrying on to New Hampshire and South Carolina, our campaign updated grassroots leaders just as we would with any breaking news story," Cruz said in a statement first shared with CNN. "That's fair game. What the team then should have done was send around the follow-up statement from the Carson campaign clarifying that he was indeed staying in the race when that came out."

Wait a minute. Would YOU, or any intelligent person, have believed that a candidate as high in the polls as Carson was would suddenly announce he was dropping out just before the voting??

Uh-huh.

In the meantime, here on FR, the Branch Trumpidians have decided to assassinate/take out Cruz by any means possible. Look no further than this thread (although there are plenty of others) if anyone not believe what I'm saying.

Can they hear themselves talk, I do wonder...

I'll still take pity on them, despite their childishness and deafness, and will provide for them covering fire if I can, when time comes for them to go for the old schoolbus buried in the backyard.

As long as they come out to vote in the general election -- at the very least -- to vote AGAINST whoever is the Democrap Party nominee.

The GOP may in myriad ways be the Wrong Party, BUT; the Donkey Party is the Extra Wrong Party, six ways from Sunday so much more, as sure as the latter are the party of choice for atheists.

It's like this;

However,

I realize that it sucks having to face the fact that our backs are figuratively against the wall (or even worse -- there is no wall at all, near immediately to our rear, but an open chasm that leads straight to hell, instead) but we simply cannot rely upon some knight in shining armor to come save us.

We are not 'Princesses' but free men who must fight our own battles, and pray our own prayers for God (not some political figure, or some knight in shining armor) to deliver us from evil...

It would help if more of us (even around here at FR) repented and turned from our own puny pettiness and wickedness.

There's a lot on the line. This is not a game, but real life with real consequences. And we (this nation) is no longer as sheltered by own "shining seas" and distance, on either flank. The world has never before been this dangerous of place for the USA, I think. (I wish I was wrong about that).

So suck it up, Trump supporters. Your guy may still make it. Who knows? One thing I will not do is vote for the other side, or stay home and sulk if my guy (Cruz) flames out.

I voted for Romney last time around, and he was the absolute last (among Republican party contenders) on my own list.

I voted for the guy even though I lived in California, and my vote didn't have a snowball's proverbial chance of making any difference. I could have voted a hundred times, and every Republican favoring voter in my County had voted a hundred times -- and it would have made no difference in the eventual outcome. But I held my nose and voted anyway. Not so much out of Party Loyalty (I'm still registered independent) but out of recognition of just who is the WORST forked-est tongue collection of demon-bags (that would be -- the Democrats, although perhaps not uniformly all of them, all of the time).

If anyone here on this forum who lives in potentially close-call, swing-state locales, come general election time STAYS HOME because they don't like whoever it is that is running against either Sanders of the Hildabeast (who are we kidding? Sanders won't get the nomination. The Democrap Machine will overrule their own peoples who are sick of her, if it comes to that) then you may as well call up some aging liberal arts college student wiener-face to keep pressing on with hopey-changey "if we just talk 'nice' the rest of the world (and hand them a reset button) they won't hate the USA anymore..." to go cast their vote for themselves, for effectively that what's staying home will accomplish.

They (the weiner-face hopeychangeys) will be doing that gladly anyway (like they always do) thinking their own idealism will somehow help 'save the earf', their very naivete itself one of the dangers we all face.

It will be no consolation when they are blown to smithereens -- IF we allow that to occur (or should it be said "if we don't limit the damages to only a few areas of the nation?).

In Iran, the Mullahs are counting their nuclear bomb pits, or the days until they have more than a just a few, as we speak...

David Axlerod thanks you for your efforts here on this forum.

Keep it up.

The Hildabeast just may win, despite the long odds!

It doesn't appear to me that Cruz and his staffers knew the CNN info was erroneous until some time after they acted on the info. Yet you're spinning it into something it's not. Why? Ask yourself that. And no, "ask yourself that" does not mean "search yourself for justification for your own apparent mis-characterization of events"...

The (later discovered to be erroneous) CNN info didn't come out until part-way through the caucus proceedings in the first place, right? We're talking only a matter of hours here, and right in the thick of things, while much else was taking place too.

Or-- you could provide backing link for the primary assertion you made that I highlighted, above.

What's it going to be?

Are you going to continue doing the GOPe's and DNC's dirty work for them, in attempting to take Cruz out?

Doing so sullies all the rest of the contenders, somewhat by default. One of those will be facing whoever the eventual Democrat Party nominee it will be.

Please. Don't be so dead set against Cruz that you end up shooting even Trump in the foot-ses.

Make one leading Republican nominee look bad, and they all take a hit. And Trunp ain't no angel, in case you haven't noticed. But he did have some quite gracious things to say about coming in second place in the Iowa caucus. I'll gladly hand him that (even though I heard only a small part of it on the radio earlier today, he sounded good).

He should. But how can such a great Christian, staunch Conservative, true Constitutional supporter, in fact the only candidate Glenn Beck would endorse lie.? No not lie -— stretch the truth to where he only has to offer a weak apology. Yeah right. What the Cruz campaign did to Carson was fine, within the rules of the game that politics is, but it sure as bell wasn’t Christian.

“I know almost no one believes me but Cruz is the stealth establishment candidate. All of his big money is very establishment and much of it the antithesis of what he supposedly stands for.

His donors are open borders, American Union, New World Order ..........”

You’re not alone. I’ve been thinking all day about Cruz’s NWO/CFR etc. connections through his wife and donors. I know these entities push progressive/collectivist candidates as a rule, but they can also see the writing on the wall - and determine that, this time, they better own a “conservative” candidate. And they already had a connection to one that they could use.

Don’t know if this is crazy or not. Time may tell ... or not.

"I imagine that's part of why the Cruz team fell for "

"Fell for"? How old are you? Do you really think that even one nanosecond passed before Jeff Roe, Jason Miller, and Rick Tyler read CNN's tweet and immediately group seshed the lie they put out to their Iowa ground crew? Really? Really?

This is probably over your head, but let me simplify something for you - Jeff Roe is the guy who drove Tea Partier Richard Mourdock into the ground and put Demoknob Joe Donnelly into office, helping to deprive conservatives of a Senate super-majority. When Roe does the same thing to Cruz, remember where you read it first.

For Gods sake Trump associated Carson with pedophilia! He needs to redirect his anger. He was at 9% in the polls because of dirty politics by Trump not Cruz.

Agree.

Cruz is a one-percenter, NWO Globalist guy posing as a conservative.

Wolf in sheep’s clothing.

At least with the Donald, what you see is what you get!

When I think of Cruz I laugh and think of the line in As good as it gets

Melvin Udall: I think of a man, and I take away reason and accountability.

Cruz damages his own integrity and Trump warned that Ted Cruz is a Nasty man. Yes indeed Trump reads people well. Cruz may have done Dr. Ben Carson a favor too. The media ignored him cause he talked on issues not tearing down other candidates. But they’re talking to Dr. Ben Carson now.
