...At this very critical juncture in our history, while our nation and our liberties have been ravaged by the Obama years, and life as we know it in this nation hangs precariously by a thread, Fox News, Limbaugh, Levin, and Hannity have gambled with our future, knowing we have no collateral to back up the game. For months, these fair weather friends of conservatism have heaped slovenly, starry-eyed adoration on Donald Trump. Trump - that gilded toad, who's conservative history began at about the time he decided to run as a Republican has been shoved in our faces from the day he announced, garnering twice as much attention as any actual, proven conservative candidate by Fox News...
Mark Levin's fans are voicing feeble defenses of the man these days, pointing out how harsh he's being with Trump. GEE... Welcome to the party, Mark! For months, Levin couldn't stop talking of Trump's brilliant strategy, how he was tapping into conservative angst. He wasn't PC and the so-called establishment couldn't stand it! Oddly enough, in 2011, Levin said of Trump, "Trump is NOT the real deal. He will get Obama re-elected. This is not a game. This is not a circus. He is not a conservative... We should not encourage this," But a mere 4 years later, Levin was one more clown under the Big Top. His recent return to his senses is too little, too late...

FIFY.
I like Hugh, but his format bores me. He interviews too many politicians.
“For months, Levin couldn’t stop talking of Trump’s brilliant strategy, how he was tapping into conservative angst. He wasn’t PC and the so-called establishment couldn’t stand it!”
Basically all of the people complaining about Trump today, were cheering him on last fall.
They arrogantly saw Trump as a cheap weapon against the GOPe they couldn’t manage to defeat in the past. They all just assumed that Trump would just fade out on his own (because reasons), leaving it wide-open for Cruz.
When that didn’t happen, then they got “mad” and decided to go after Trump, again arrogantly think that they actually have real power and influence. By that time it was far too late, and the public just saw them as snarky control freaks, that think they can order people around, holding their conservatism above their heads.
“3) Only Rush Limbaugh, in ALL the “conservative media,” has really tried to get into what is happening and for the most part he’s doing a great job. He understands this isn’t about switching out guys at the top. This is a revolution against “the system” and the whole elite, “inside-the-club” way of doing things.”
Worth repeating
It is. But it also shows how much Trump is living in their heads. Rent free.

Interesting.
Even if we get tricked by Trump and he doesn’t build a wall, stop unfair trade, etc. at least we were tricked by a professional prostitute and not one of the usual GOP sluts.
First, RedState has zero credibility.
Second, there is no âconservative mediaâ. Nor should there be. Itâs bad enough that most of the media leans left but you cannot right a wrong by doing the same thing in the opposite direction. Media should be unbiased and have the integrity to report both sides objectively. As much as people hate it, the Fairness Doctrine was created with that goal in mind.
But when all media is supported by advertising it is inevitable that performers like Rush, Levin, Hannitty and all the rest must create a persona in order to form a bond with their audience. High ratings is a measure that theyâve done that well, not that they know what theyâre talking about or have any special knowledge or expertise. âSports Talkâ is a perfect example.
At last, a sane mind calls it right.
“I like Hugh, but his format bores me. He interviews too many politicians”
Funny, that’s what I think makes Hugh’s show better. You get to hear it straight from the weasels’ mouths.
Let’s make America great again.
I have “Red State” fatigue.
Trump would be a WAY better ‘Rat POTUS than H->!.
“Hewitt has the better show for political junkies despite Hugh being a bootlicking GOPe weasel.”
Kind of true. Levin was more a Trump-like phenomenon.
I really hated smarmy Hewitt, but tended to listen to his show more. I was a lot more sympathetic to Levin but didn’t necessarily want to listen to the same thing I agree with all the time n
Funny thing is, Hugh is totally now on the Trump bandwagon.
To do they, we need to change the mind-set of individual Americans. That is a tall order with the current generation.
And this is why the Conservative Media Red State, National Review, et al have lost any ability to be effective.
Infantile snarling in place of reason commentary is a politically idiotic tactics if you want to get people to listen to your views.
.
All four of your points are good. Well stated and perceptively informative. .
There are two completely different political philosophies — Conservatism and Trumpism.
Conservatism stands for a particular set of principles, while Trumpism stands for nothing except what its namesake, Donald Trump, thinks is good for himself at any particular moment — including attacking Conservatives like Ben Carson and Ted Cruz in an effort to destroy them.
Conservative principles can’t survive if Conservative candidates are destroyed.
Which means that Donald Trump has become a human wrecking ball for the future of Conservatism in America.
The Mark Levins and Rush Limbaughs of the media must take sides. There is no middle way. They’re either for Conservatism or for Donald Trumpism, which is the mortal enemy of Conservatism.
“If Hewitt is a bootlicking GOPe weasel, where does that leave Medved? “
Medved is the incarnation of Grima Wormtongue from Lord of the Rings. Pretending to be a trusted adviser to his conservative listeners while whispering in their ears to give up on issues that they really want. “You can’t deport illegal aliens. There’s too many of them...”
I may not use your exact language, but what you say about Trump is a possibility.
For now my money and support is behind Cruz and I’ll continue to watch and see what Trump is doing and where he is going.
