NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Rep. Peter King is calling out presidential candidate Ted Cruz amid controversy over the senator's comments on "New York values."
On Saturday, King tweeted that Ted Cruz was lying when he said he supports New York's firefighters and police.
"Not true," the Republican said, adding that Cruz did not co-sponsor or vote in favor of the Zadroga 9/11 Health & Compensation Act. King went on to call Cruz "a fraud."
@tedcruz can't tell truth. Says he fights 4 cops & firefighters. Not true. Didn't cosponsor or vote 4 Zadroga 9/11 health bill. What a fraud

Pete, did Donald or Barack offer you a plane trip for offering up your silly gibberish?
I think most Americans already knew Trump isn’t like us. Except maybe a few other very powerful billionaires.
As leader of the free world, I really don’t want someone like me or like most of us. I want someone a whole helluva lot better, stronger.
“FR is starting to look like the DU with all the rabid leftist ranting that goes on here these days.”
Agreed, And LIBBYLU is one of the principal protagonists! He (She, It) needs to get a life, along with all those in the “if my preference doesn’t get the nod, I’m going to take my marbles and go home” crowd!
Of course. I never said otherwise. All I am trying to do is to wake you up some to the problems of Cruz. You do not have to walk through the Cruz Life with sundaes and apple pies. If he is going to be the nominee, then the problems I bring up are going to have to be fixed because if he can’t handle me then how will he handle Clinton or even weak Bernie? That is really the bottom line.
This is the Pete King that had no problem leaving an obvious felon in the Whitehouse. NY values I suppose....
It was sponsored by liberals so guess.
We may be the only two Freepers who support opposite candidates that get along. Lolz
Fair question. Is there anything on record that Cruz used that as justification for not voting for it?
It would help if Cruz had something on record, from the time of the vote, why he voted against it (assuming that he did). He's beyond us accepting a weasel-reason this long after the fact, and not until he's challenged on it.
One thing I liked about FR was the paucity of infantile remarks. No more. Juvenile remarks defending the thug Trump are now commonplace here.
I don’t give a rats a$$ about anything Peter King has to say. He’s a concentrated waste of oxygen.
You can bet the police and firemen unions will be there to collect!!!
Great point! Pete King is a GOP-E butt boy.
Maybe you should demand that we be purged from FR. After all you trumptards have gone so far to the left it shouldn’t be any problem going all the way.
Yes I am one of those who will never EVER vote for lying liberal scumbag Donald Trump. He isn’t even trying to win at this point, he’s just trying to piss off as many people as possible. Well good luck with that.
You have a spending bill giving millions that will be controlled by democrats....I think I’ve seen this movie before!!!
Pete King, I thought the bitchers and moaners was limited to New York City.
Pete the sneak, proves me wrong.
Peter King - lol
And more New York Values on display, Rep King angry that his pet pocket money funnel wasn’t supported..
Cruz has been looked at as the King of Kings by his father and that sometimes appears to
me to have rubbed off on Edward.
Here’s an interesting take on the annointing of Edward by his father.

It was an extension of the original Zadroga act, and it was in the Omnibus Bill, which Cruz, of course, voted against. However, there was a stand-alone Zadroga Act which Cruz refused to co-sponsor or fight for, that is what King means when he says that Cruz didn't co-sponsor or vote for the bill. TEchnically correct.
This is all political weeds stuff to me. But it does seem the stand-alone bill could have used Cruz's support and advocacy, as well as his high profile among conservatives. Ted is a very slimy guy. You'll seldom find him doing things straight up and out front, especially if they don't heighten his profile.
