Michelle Obama would want a 'shotgun or rifle' to make sure her family were protected if living in a rural area, Barack Obama revealed in a televised gun debate on Thursday.
This came as the President assured the nation that he was not trying to spearhead a 'conspiracy' to take away other Americans' constitutional right to purchase firearms.
Obama said he recalled that when he was campaigning for office and he and Michelle visited farms in rural Iowa, his wife told him: 'If I was living in a farmhouse where the sheriff's department is pretty far away and somebody can just turn off the highway and come up to the farm, I'd want to have a shotgun or a rifle to make sure that I was protected and my family was protected.'
Barack said that she 'was absolutely right' and that part of the reason the debate ends up being such a difficult issue is because 'people occupy different realities'.
This is not the first time that Michelle has waded into the firearms debate.
In 2013, she made a tearful address at a debate in Chicago, where she urged for a 'common-sense reforms to protect our children from gun violence'.

Youre missing the bigger picture. Liberals love guns. Sure, they trot out the stable of ‘useful idiots’ to prepetuate the myths that guns are evil and only govt needs them. However, the TRUTH is they have NO problem with guns. Their issue is that you can have them too. All of the guns sold since Chairman O became president were bought by conservatives.
