Conservative commentator Ann Coulter, who has been boosting Donald Trump for president, took to Twitter on Wednesday to declare that Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) is not a natural born citizen.
Ann Coulter @AnnCoulter
Same lawyers who said anchor babies are in the Constitution now tell us being born outside U.S to 1 American parent = natural born citizen.
Ann Coulter @AnnCoulter
NYT: Cruz was born outside the U.S. to 1 American parent: "Under the Constitution this makes him a 'natural born citizen.'â Absolutely false
Coulter joins Trump in questioning whether Cruz can legally be president.
âRepublicans are going to have to ask themselves the question: âDo we want a candidate who could be tied up in court for two years?â Thatâd be a big problem,â Trump told The Washington Post on Tuesday.

Okay, they’d never get anywhere with it. The full force of the DNC would no more this...maybe there would be a fringe attempt like there was with Obama...but it never went anywhere for a number of reasons.....
What evidence do you base your asinine statement on?
The GOP candidates would have been harmed also.
I was doing some stuff around here and I was laughing to myself...just couldn’t get that one out of my mind, LOL.
then what the heck is the problem? Is it because they said may?
Oh, and why is the Cato Institute the arbiters of the law of the NBC clause? Are any of them sitting as a highest Judge in the land?
Yes, she did. And in her latest book, she stated that nothing else mattered, including the right to life (I think she used quotes around it), until the border is secured.
Obama already set the precedent for a foreign-born president, so what’s the problem exactly?
The problem is that there are people with political agendas that want to make an issue where there is none.
She's got issues all right it's called: being wrong even more than Dick Morris.
I think it would be harder for them to prove since Cruz would not be the only reason why they didn't get the nomination. You would have to factor in all the other candidates. Also I really would like to think that a Republican candidate would not sue over the eligibility of the Republican president, but with Trump I suppose anything is possible.
WHAT DIFFERENCE AT THIS POINT DOES IT MAKE IF A KENYAN MUSLIM WENT FOR A WALK AND DECIDED TO RUN FOR PRESIDENT!
We can’t cuz at present all FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) requests filed in search of any U.S. citizenship documents to confirm the true official U.S. citizenship status of Ted Cruz have been denied access. All citizenship records for Ted Cruz are sealed unless and until Ted Cruz agrees to allow any such records to be released by either U.S. or Canadian agencies.
"Some info", huh?
Yeah.
I bet we'd all be entertained by the site that nugget came from.
Nose?
You have convinced me.
Issue not decided.
There have already been 2 challenges filed to Cruz’s eligibility, 1 in Vermont the other in Florida. I agree with you that when Trump was ASKED about this issue he was essentially telling Cruz to clear this up before we get too far into the election process.
So far, what I’ve heard from Justice Scalia doesn’t convince me. I like Cato’s argument better.
Again, the original meaning didn’t clearly exclude children of U.S. diplomats on foreign soil.
What about Scalia’s argument is convicing to you?
Some of us remember when every politician that something remotely resembling conservative thinking got one of these.
Scott Brown for President! Woo! Woo!
Ann is a single issue commentator and that issue is immigration, she dropped Christy like a hot rock when he revealed his true immigration position.
There is deep division even on FR over what constitutes NBC and it is futile to debate it here.
That aside Trump did not say exactly what is being claimed here, he was very much more subtile than that, he used the old "people say..." saying the democrats will surely bring up the issue and if people believe they wont well that is just foolish considering Hillary is the one that brought it up against Obama. Rush did a pretty good impression of how Trump did this today.
Be honest she dropped Christy but in fairness I think she would still vote Romney. And lawyers disagreeing, I never heard of such did you?
