Real-estate mogul Donald Trump has opened up large leads in the key early states of South Carolina and Nevada, according to new CNN/ORC polls.
But more impressive, amid an overall narrative that the front-runner's poll numbers have plateaued over the past month, is his continued dominance of the issues.
In Nevada and South Carolina, at least, Trump is crushing his Republican counterparts on some of the issues most important to GOP voters.
When voters in Nevada were asked who could best handle...
Moreover, 34% of Republican voters in Nevada said Trump "best represents" views of Republicans like themselves. And, significantly, 47% thought Trump would have the best chance of winning the general election next November. Nationally, that number has previously been much lower, with only 25% of Republican voters in a July poll saying they could see him winning the nomination.

Trump’s immune. He’s everybody’s Crazy Uncle Don at family gatherings. Outrageous guy, somewhat off color, but mygosh does he have a lifetime of stories to tell!
I have never been able to mentally resolve the opinions of some researchers that Jackie tried to climb out of the car to get away from the SS in the front seat...and the fact she never accepted their protection after that...
The fact that they aren’t even offering him Secret Service protection is what’s troubling. I wonder why they don’t?
I suspect Trump’s smart enough to keep some of his own security people even when he finally gets Secret Service Protection.
The Secret Service ain’t what it use to be...
JFK and Reagan
Does his private security have access to our nation’s intelligence services?
To identify certain threats that may have an international or even domestic threat, the Secret Service is a must.
The Warren Commission was paid off, but other than that, I have my own opinions of that situation...
Bump!
I believe the law about having secret service protection begins when the final candidate for a party is chosen so wanting it now can’t happen.
Obama got Secret Service protection on May 3rd, 2007.

That would be sooo stupid of them. Trump is a walking boomerang effect on two legs. Throw something at him and it comes back with equal or greater force time and time again. Simply astounding IMO.
Ditto what you said:
SECRET SERVICE SECURITY FOR DONALD TRUMP NOW!
What we do know is that the Kennedy was told not to go to Dallas, he was warned that the Secret Service could not guarantee his safety, but he chose to go anyway.
I read that in the book ‘One Thousand Days’ I wonder what our Country would look like today if he had listened and lived?
Unless the sitting president gives the word, you are correct.
George W. Bush ordered SS protection for Obama quite early. Because he is allegedly a black guy, I guess.
Some of the SS have been politicized by Obama and they are doing one incompetent or corrupt thing after another, so I don’t know if it is a good idea for Mr. Trump to put his life in their hands without his own men inside and the SS (as currently constituted) won’t have that. To Trump, the cost of having trustworthy and competent security is small change.
Whoever becomes President next is going to have a real mess to clean up there. Since Hillary abuses and hates the SS, the police and military men, she’ll be up the creek if she wins the election. Police State corruption has a way of biting it’s creator in the fanny.
IMO, if Trump or another Republican wins the election he should take an OLD military or SS man with solid American/Western ethics and culture and have him reconstitute or replace the current SS with people trained to do the job. They need to be taught to understand the American-American culture and mission of a non-political and high character SS correctly. A good pool of real American men would be those in the military who Obama expelled for being Christians. After the current SS were recently caught digging up dirt on that Congressman who was investigating their incompetence, it’s obvious they are way off track and even constitute a political and corrupt danger to the President. Corruption has no loyalty.
It appears Bush ordered the secret service due to certain threats against Obama. So, the pres can order it early.
What is the rule? 35% in the polls? What a crock.
