FULL TITLE: District Attorneys Office Tells Employees They Are Not Permitted to Apply for a Handgun Permit or Possess a Handgun
A district attorney in one New York county has forbade her prosecutors from owning a handgun even at home.
An application for the Nassau County District Attorneys Office requires applicants to sign a statement that says, I understand that assistant district attorneys are not permitted to apply for a handgun permit nor own or possess a handgun while employed by the Nassau County District Attorney.
The application does state that exceptions to the rule can be made by the acting district attorney. The office is currently held by Madeline Singas.
According to Fox News, some law experts have said the rule is unconstitutional and may violate a New York state statute.

As best I can tell, the theory is that the DAs office is worried that prosecutors will come in to the office in a rage and shoot up the place. What kinds of people is the DAs office hiring? Volokh wrote. Are the chances of one of its employees, trusted to make daily decisions about citizens liberties and public safety, snapping and turning to murder so high that they outweigh employees constitutional rights to protect themselves and their families at home?

(closet pay-off to judge by N.Y. Gov.)
You sure sniffed out a moron here.
LOL
Even Biden isn’t this dumb. Pay off of some kind, for sure.
Too bad they can’t have her arrested...oh wait.
“some law experts have said the rule is unconstitutional”
How else does one translate “shall not be infringed”.
Unless you are a moron, or one of the elite, or both.
DAs need protection because they put bad guys in jail. Is the witch going to offer 24-hour bodyguards for their protection?
She’s going to be voted out of office in November and this will all be thrown out.
She’s only in office now because Kathleen Rice, the former DA, was elected to congress and she was her fill in appointee.
Unconstitutional on its face...............................
Well, there is a Constitutional right to own a gun. But there is NOT a Constitutional right to be a DA.
A smart member of that team would apply for one,get fired and then sue for wrongful dismissal.
“As best I can tell, the theory is that the DAs office is worried that prosecutors will come in to the office in a rage and shoot up the place.”
Yup. Typical libtard mentality. And most mass shooters are Dummycrats.
This is crazy!
But is any agreement in which an individual agrees to give up a Constitutional right a valid one...one that would be upheld by a court?
Is the DA also suspending his employees’ other Bill of Rights, the 1st, 4th, 5th for example?
The criminals in that location are all thinking “Hmmmm.... The DA’s are all unprotected, huh?”
Don’t you wish Eddie Ray Routh would invite this DA to the range...
Never give an order you know won’t be followed.
Do it anyway.
Your right to protect yourself overrules her right to be an Idiot.
