A former top aide to Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) fired off a series of tweets Monday afternoon explaining why the governor dropped out of the race.
Less than an hour after news broke that Walker would suspend his campaign, Liz Mair a former Walker adviser who was forced to resign earlier this year after criticizing various aspects of Iowa politics tweeted out more two dozen tweets explaining the governor's demise.
Mair blamed the governor's sagging poll numbers less on the anti-establishment political climate and more on a number of strategic miscalculations.

Walker himself gave an exit speech blaming and attacking Trump.
He didn’t have an, “Oops” moment he’ll have to live down next time.
That says more about how dumb Walker was than Liz.
Good point. Tough business.
Scott came into this race unsteady; and he got bounced out quite quick because of it.
“These guys running need to get it through their heads that we are not f***ing around this time.
Either you pay attention to us (not your advisers), or you go home.
We dont care how conservative you call yourself. The minute you try to get cute is the moment we walk.”
I LIKE it! Same way I feel.
Liz is a amoral smear merchant for hire.
“They destroyed Michele Bachmanns campaign the same way last election cycle. Im beginning to believe that this entire election business is a circus. The candidates are puppets and any conservatives stupid enough to believe GOPee baloney about not being a serious candidate, unless you hire one of them, will be sabotaged by them. They know nothing but the rules they make up. Theyve already decided ahead of time which of the candidates is going to win and they play the game keep the cronies paid with the other candidates to keep their own coffers filled.
I no longer have an ounce of respect for any of them because Im sure they all know the game, but none of them has the guts to go against it. They just hold their hand out waiting for their turn. Making sure to twist the knife in any conservative they work for on their way out.”
And something tells me Trump won’t be hiring a single one of ‘em!
It’s hilarious to see Liz Mair pontificating about why Scott Walker dropped out of the race! The biggest mistake of his entire campaign was the scandal which resulted from hiring her!!!
They destroyed Michele Bachmanns campaign the same way last election cycle.”
It’s pump and dump by Dems.
Most of us know what she is, but she laid out the essential facts of why Scott is out....
“A shame. Id blame it as much on the media. First debate, 9 out of ten in minutes. Second, dead last, 3 questions, the first 90 minutes in.”
And the media is going to do the same to Ted Cruz. By ignoring him, he will be out of sight and out of mind. These debates are atrocious. The Conservatives are faring a lot worse than the establishment candidates.
My favorite candidates were Walker and Cruz. It’s not looking good.
They always hated the voters. It's just more obvious now that the voters have an alternative.
“Word is he just avoided getting tied to a very bad story that could well have been coming. “
What’s that even mean??
President Trump could still appoint Walker to head the NLRB.
What did Brad Dayspring say?
They’re going to do the same thing to everyone but Trump and maybe Carly for a bit. Jeb, of course, has plenty of money and will have more, he’ll be in position. And will get plenty of publicity when the time comes. The Republicans, choose between a reality star and another Bush. I home someone can get some traction. Maybe Rubio or Cruz, Kasich seems to have the same problem as Walker. Who wants to listen to a successful governor.
Just like Michael Corleone did to Tessio in The Godfather, Donald Trump is messing with all the elites’ “arrangements.” When there are 17 candidates and you are paying for at least ten of them for who knows how long, those paying tend to get upset. They don’t like uncertainty. They want to call all the shots. They want to be in control and just make it seem like the little people are making the choice. They had the system all planned out and it has worked in the past. Trump blew all their plans to bits.
As for the idea of “we the people’s” constitutional power, everyone with eyes can see that the Emperor is wearing a birthday suit when it comes to choosing presidents. Trump is a chance to alter things politically. At least for this election.
I hope Walker considers running for a senate seat. I think he’d be an excellent Senator.
