In this interview with Greta on Fox News, Ben Carson explained why he thought Trumps deport em all policy was unworkable and why a guest worker program makes more sense.

Im not sure I agree completely with Ben Carson on that as far as Ive heard, the component price of produce having to do with labor is about 10%. So DOUBLING the wages you pay someone would only mean a 10% raise in the price of tomatoes. Would Americans be willing to pick tomatoes if they were paid $15-$20 an hour? I have a feeling they would.

Welfare assistance should be only for the truly-needy and helpless, and not some bogus "total-disablity status" crap.
I agree.
You are f'ing right on pardon my f'rench.
When I hear this bilge about Americans not wanting to do certain jobs it makes me want to puke.
I don't know about stealing for food but soup lines and charity wards will suffice perfectly well.
Then if they want to steal or plunder we can thin the ranks rapidly.
I am through with Ben Carson. He was modest, decent and patriotic and suddenly he has become this great self-congratulatory social engineer.
FBC!!
Draft Allen West!
Just so long as it’s not a human Prius.
;-)
when I was a young man I worked in California. That was before the labor union organized. They had a very workable program whereby the grower associations contracted with companies which hired and sent in Mexicans workers to work the fields. When the work was done, the company took them back to Mexico. The growers provided shelter and food, the employment supplied the supervision and transportation. I don’t recall the details, but I know the growers were well satisfied with the arrangements, the labor companies were happy and the Mexicans had a nice hunk of change when they got home. My recollection is that they called it the “brocera” program, or something like that.
I like Cruz. Right now he’s my choice.
Take away their welfare and food stamps and they will. The democrats have created a welfare paid block of Democrat voters...money talks.
Carson is wrong on many issues.
That is what I thought. Why do we need new programs?
And of course Amnesty Ben is a token candidate. Pure and simple. No white man with his thin resume would have any traction whatsoever running for President. The GOP needs to get over its love of tokenism.
“Scalpel. Suture. Fork.”
I never thought about drawing unemployment, or turning down an honest job.
If you told my daddy "I can't do that" he would answer, "be honest, you just don't want to do that".
>>BEN CARSON SAYS WE NEED A GUEST WORKER PROGRAM BECAUSE AMERICANS JUST WONT WORK HARDER JOBS
Good justification for slavery.
I didn’t know about this, how Obama’s Czars had been poking their noses in the minute affairs of private farmers. That sort of forced change may explain a lot.
From this Admin, I would not be surprised to discover there is now an LGBT ‘requirement’ in hiring practices too. You must hire the ‘Fat-Disabled and provide benefits. Oh, and let’s not forget to hire the newly released convicted felons, not that you could ask them about that.
I think that a lot of kids would do the work too. From what I’ve seen there’s a lot more laws about kids working than there used to be. If the kids had a way to get to the jobs, I’m sure there are kids that would love to get the money during the summer months. We also have idle non-violent prisoners that could do the work.
I dunno Ben, just for the helluvit why don’t we just give it a try anyway, see what happens?
Probably if the high schools would teach the kids how to use their hands in carpentry, new mechanics, plumbing, cooking and other jobs (Americans won’t do) we’d be surprised how the kids may like working with their hands. The schools could even teach the kids how to “wait tables” properly, if the teachers, themselves knew these skills. I had two roommates (college graduates) who didn’t know how to properly set a table.
Wow. How many feet does Ben Carson have?—because this is about the sixth time he’s shot himself in the foot this week.
He’s for amnesty, open borders, etc., and thinks the Supreme Court makes laws, and he’s squishy on just about everything.
