Trump's teleprompter challenge trips up White House
By Susan Crabtree 8/26/15 3:53 PM
White House press secretary Josh Earnest got a little tongue-tied Wednesday after being asked what he thought of Donald Trump's suggestion that teleprompters ought to be outlawed.
Veteran CBS White House correspondent Mark Knoller asked him if such a uniform ban would affect the president "adversely." Since the 2008 presidential campaign, Obama has been known for his reliance on tele-prompters to deliver speeches and often rambles without one.
"I don't have any well that's a tough one to respond to," Earnest admitted amid some laughter from the White House reporters during Wednesday's daily briefing.
"I think what I'll say is
certainly, each of the candidates has an opportunity to choose how they deliver their remarks in public, and people are much more focused not on how they deliver their remarks, but actually the substance of their message," he finally said.

Awe....I can see what’s starting to happen....he he he.....
Trump/Cruz 2016!!! Trey Gowdy=Attorney General 2016!!!
It would be funny if somebody should hack TOTUS .... Obama would probably read it - the first couple of sentences anyway, until an aide could shut him up.
I would rather discuss the DNC meeting happening today, that Hillary Already Has The Votes, but it is nice to see Josh earnestly squirming on the question of teleprompters.
Here we see yet another reason why Trump is so popular with so many average Americans.
Of course, someone will be coming along here soon with a claim that Trump once used a teleprompter back in 2000, and we should focus on that instead.
Sarah Palin’s teleprompter malfunctioned in the middle of her acceptance speech and she didn’t miss a beat.
It would be funny if somebody should hack TOTUS .... Obama would probably read it - the first couple of sentences anyway, until an aide could shut him up.
Obama: “...and that is why, after the state of the country today, I’m supporting Donald Trump to clear up the mess I and my predecessors have ma... Wait a sec... What the hell???”
every one of the Republican candidates that I have observed have studiously avoided the teleprompter
I watched Dr Ben deliver an hour and a half lecture on Dr Ben, conservative values, direction for the country and how to accomplish it off the cuff. He dominated the platform, mic in hand striding from side to side, making eye contact. When he got a little tired, he leaned on the podium, casual as could be.
Super cool
The teleprompter is a crutch for a feeble mind.....................
There is more than one consideration, in play here. Obviously, we do not want a puppet in the White House. But neither should any candidate, who is able to speak for himself, give up the advantage with the viewer, that comes from the fuller--far better--level of communication, that comes from the far more spontaneous delivery that is not pre-scripted.
"He'll read anything, and I mean ANYthing, off that teleprompter."

Contest: What should be hacked into O's TOTUS?
Here's the winning entry (I'm sure Obama would deliver the whole thing before he realized what he said):
I favor unrestricted immigration. And I say that not only as the President. I say it as a Muslim, and as someone who was born in a foreign country.
That would work!! :-)
Would pay money to see that.
In the meantime, Obama will have absolutely nothing to say, while aids scrambling to load the right speech.
(psst, it happened before. TOTUS went dark, don’t remember for how long, and Obama couldn’t find anything, let alone little jokes, to say.)
Oh Gawd. . .that would be an absolute dream. . .and the hilarity to follow as the left tries to dodge, dance and evade what he said and then try to twist it, spin it into a positive.
Oh Gawd. . .let us pray that the scenario you suggested actually happens. . .
