A Gastonia family has removed a Confederate flag from their truck after they said someone fired half a dozen gunshots at them this weekend.
The shooting happened Saturday night and bullets narrowly missed a passenger's head.
The family showed Eyewitness News reporter Ken Lemon the damage and told him they believe they were targeted.
The father of two, who did not want to be identified, took it down and told Lemon it's not worth flying anymore.

Ugh. Fix the grammar! It looks illiterate!
I feel the same way. I don’t usually call people out on it because I am not their father, but I do believe bad grammar has gotten way out of hand.
I will not respond to a text or email that is written in lazy text-speech.
See, that was purposely misspelled.
Yes.
And it's especially annoying in/on published material like, for instance, a bumper sticker. Someone obviously took a good bit of time to design that bumper sticker, create the art work and prepare it for production; but they failed to perform even the most rudimentary proofreading for grammar/spelling errors.
They don't offer it up from the refreshment carts?
Thanks.
Not sure why my attempt to help was viewed with such hostility.
It's a sticker off a web search, duh ,and you managed to change the subject.
Maybe Roof will get his race war after all.
Anything offensive to liberals will make you a target. I posted anti-Obama stickers on my car prior to his second election and was keyed three times, twice in a Costco parking lot. Oh, the tolerance of the left......
Next people who fly the confederate flag will have crosses burned on their front yards and they’ll be pulled out and lynched, I suppose. And the media will say “well, what can you expect...?”
Can they be read at 50 yards? 100 yards? At night? Their "protection" extends no further than the effective range of the weapon advertised...
when fired from the driver's seat...
at an attacker who is behind you...
when your truck is in motion.
And at least two racial groups have been wanting that for a long time.
All these things you cite are possible. It’s actually likelihood.
My county is 30,000 with 96% white, 1% black, and 3% Mexican/whatevers (2010 US Census data).
I have seen pickup trucks with CBFs flying in the back at Walmart, Kroger, Ingals, Home Depot, Wendy’s, Hardies, Zaxby’s, McDonalds, Hardees, etc.
Regardless, I’ve even driven my truck to Atlanta, Marietta, Smyrna, and other larger population efforts and never had a problem.
Yep. They preach diversity, inclusion, tolerance and multiculturalism out of one face, then demonize and harm any that disagree with their social/political/religious positions out of their other face.
They are lost souls, easily manipulated by evil ones and their lies. They are a cancer in America.
We all know their tolerant on the left.
Niteowl mentioned social camouflage. That’s a great way to put it—why make yourself a target?
Nah...that’s just a regular Saturday night in Gastonia...especially if it happened in west Gastonia.
Maintain your situational awareness and you’ll be OK. If the situation feels a bit hinky, bug-out.
The CBF (for those offended) should be classed (by the press & civil authorities) in a category with Rastafarian hair & dress, guys with their britches hanging around their knees, Tam-o-Shanters & kilts, etc.
They are symbols of a person’s chosen identity or heritage. If they offend you, get over it. One of the great wrongs perpetuated by Liberals upon the Black/African American/Negro portion of our population has been the creation & nurture of the “Perpetually Offended” attitude. The other wrong is, of course, the “you are helpless without the wise, kind & compassionate white liberal and the money he takes from other citizens” mindset.
Agree.
Ive even driven my trucks to Atlanta, Montgomery , Selma, and other larger population efforts and never had a problem.
I totally agree and Yes I changed a few cities in your statement.(where I've traveled and lived.
One of the stickers I'm proud to display on my jeep.
The very idea to not do something
for fear of offending is cowardice
Found it at the FLAG SHOP in Walhalla,Sc.
