Family says someone fired shots at truck that flew Confederate flag

A Gastonia family has removed a Confederate flag from their truck after they said someone fired half a dozen gunshots at them this weekend.

The shooting happened Saturday night and bullets narrowly missed a passenger's head.

The family showed Eyewitness News reporter Ken Lemon the damage and told him they believe they were targeted.

The father of two, who did not want to be identified, took it down and told Lemon it's not worth flying anymore.

I think we would also be wise to avoid those stupid gun stickers as well. Makes you stand out like a sore thumb and could provoke any one of the multitude of insane libs out there on the roadways.

I live in Gastonia and have seen this vehicle with this flag.
In the outskirts of dairy farms where I live, it is not a very uncommon sight.
I know exactly where these apartments are in the city. I would not go there unless packing.

If you’ve ever been to Gastonia and made your way to the municipal golf course... this apartment building is across the street from that long par5 on the back side.

Its not your typical golf course surroundings. This course is in the middle of town and I imagine you can buy crack in any one mile radius of this area.

Used to be a nice course/area... I’ve played there hundreds of times. White flight and section 8 apartments ruined it years ago.

Entirely different example. Everyone knows that “thing” is meant to be misspelled, and it brings a smile. The person who made your bumper sticker is just in error, however. Perhaps he is deliberately trying to make supporters of the CBF look uneducated.
