Police are in the process of towing hundreds of cars in the West Village section of New York to clear the way for an Obama fundraiser at the townhouse of "Sex & the City" star, Sarah Jessica Parker. Anna Wintour of The Devil Wears Parda hatefulness will host. Expected guests: Justin Timberlake, Harvey Weinstein, Tommy Hilfiger.
Several blocks west of Greenwich Ave. to the river are being cleared of cars and lined with metal barricades. Hundreds of "special detail" police are to run interferencefor the $40,000 per plate event.
Cost to taxpayers - an estimated $2.5 to $3 Million.
Yep. In Texas if you shoot and kill a burglar while he’s trying to steal your car you get off with a “nice shooting”.
Why not just give them the money? At this point, what difference does it make?

You can bet that they posted a notice somewhere with just enough time to be considered official. All of those cars are going to have $200+ parking tickets on them as well as impound fees. And the ticket cost will go up within two days if not paid as well.

That works out to $2,010,000. But the NY taxpayers have to pay between $2,500,000 and $3,000,000 for his highness to raise the money? These numbers don’t look right.
Like other posters, I have to wonder, “fundraising for WHAT?”

I have seen where in college groups can be granted money to hold fundraisers, invariably the grant is more than the fundraiser is for.

It is beautiful here, but I could really do without the high cost of living and the out of control infestation of "progressives". My fear is when I am ready to retire somewhere different, there won't be anywhere left to go to avoid them. Was disheartened today to learn that O'dipwad is apparently transplanting Muslim "refugees" into Idaho.
We have public parades and public functions here in Florida, where city streets are blocked to parking on certain days.
The operative word is “public”.

Why would a private political fund raising event be allowed to impact the public in this way?
Hey, maybe he can pop in to the Islamic Center At New York University and squeeze in a quick salaam to Mecca, or at least listen to the evening call to prayer...
