Jonathan Gruber, the man at the center of Obamacares troubled public image, apologized to Congress for glib and thoughtless comments about the stupidity of the American voters and how the health overhaul passed, arguing he is no political expert and shouldnt have posed as one in speeches around the country.
Its never appropriate to try to make oneself seem more important or smarter by demeaning others. I knew better. I know better. Im embarrassed, and Im sorry, Mr. Gruber, an economics professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, told the House oversight committee chaired by Rep. Darrell Issa, California Republican.

Not enough. Turn him over and I can quickly gather a groups of individuals with rubber hoses who will beat the stupid out of that worthless bastard. And, just to make it fair all but 2 will have masters or Phd degrees.
You got that right.
I must remember this the next time I want to be vague when I answer a question from my wife. “I was just conjecturing in a glib sort of fashion”.
Excuse me! The bastard didn’t call the Congress stupid.
” This jackass belongs in prison.”
20 years.....with....chuckle....PRISON HEALTH CARE : )
Or are we engaged, once again, in a simple "finger-pointing" exercise?
(A) In general
The term coverage month means, with respect to an applicable taxpayer, any month if
(i) as of the first day of such month the taxpayer, the taxpayers spouse, or any dependent of the taxpayer is covered by a qualified health plan described in subsection (b)(2)(A) that was enrolled in through an Exchange established by the State under section 1311 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, and
(ii) the premium for coverage under such plan for such month is paid by the taxpayer (or through advance payment of the credit under subsection (a) under section 1412 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act).
Guliani then referred to statements he made about disguising the fact that the ACA was tax program and said he (Gruber) had taken federal money to produce a false presentation of the healthcare bill using "tortured language" to fool the General Accounting Office. Fraud, embezzlement and MIT as a willing partner... this would have a chance of becoming interesting if a republican with some courage were to emerge.
MIT - Massachusetts Institute of Technology - its new new name is now known as Massachusetts Institute of Truth-twisting
Lying about Obamacare to get it passed is a “political comment”? Who knew?
This guy was coached beforehand on exactly what to say. And he was made well aware of the consequences of not complying.
Stupid academic provides cover for the real evildoer.
Listening to some audio clips on Hannity right now. If he was TRULY remorseful and contrite, he would offer his undivided cooperation with the committee instead of overy other response being how they can refer to his “counsel”.
I will not accept that any admission from Gruber is payment enough for the crime that has been perpetrated on the US public. Within any condition of exposed illegal/unlawful acts this man should get a prison sentence. Being some high flouted prof from a high flouted university should not be a ‘out of jail’ game card.
Wouldn’t that also fall under RICO?
Being the prof is not his out - fingering the “big fish” is the out.
Looking for or seeking the big fish in the ladder doesn’t/shouldn’t prevent also taking the smaller fish for disposal.
It seems so to me and it would rightfully involve not only MIT, but the other Universities involved and the gang that pushed the ACA as well. I’d like to see someone with guts take them all down.
That would be nice.
I watched a bit of the hearing, but not all of it. I got the impression that he is weasel. He apologized because he got caught. He tried to downgrade his involvement with ACA as just being a number cruncher making unfortunate comments outside of his pay grade.
He is not some backroom genius that can't bend over and tie his sneakers. He was actively pushing this crap...
